Performs new and routine inspections, checks, tests and sampling procedures of standard parts. Responsible for receiving, in-process, or final inspections as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for utilizing aptitude in measurement techniques, metrology, and blueprint reading and verify operators are accurately measuring and recording dimensions on IP sheets or other documentation.
Perform first article and first piece approval for operators.
Perform inspection duties for in-process and final inspection.
Complete and review non-conformance documentation.
Support quality improvement and cost savings initiatives, as required.
Assist Quality Engineers, as required.
Assist in other production areas, as needed.
Perform other quality or document control duties, as assigned.
Perform part measurement on CMM.

Responsibilities
Perform routine calibrations and maintain equipment readiness.
Run analytical tests per SOPs using a variety of instruments and wet chemistry techniques.
Support production with in-process testing and ensure smooth shift handoffs.
Lead OOS investigations and track CAPA effectiveness.
Assist with method improvements, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance.
Maintain and update product specifications across internal systems.
Qualifications
Chemist: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field with 2+ years of lab experience.
Lab Tech: HS diploma with 2+ years of lab experience.
Knowledge of GLP, ISO 9001, and preferred experience with cGMP/GDP and FSSC 22000/ISO 22002.
Hands-on experience with GC, GC-MS, HPLC, LC, titrations, spectroscopy, physical testing, and related techniques.
Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed; organoleptic testing ability required.

Construction Representative - Lead Inspector
We have a career opportunity for a Construction Representative - Lead Inspector in Novi, MI who will work with a broad range of construction projects with our Construction Services Group In this role you will be responsible for the daily inspection and documentation of infrastructure projects including road, bridge, water main, and sewer construction, as well as play an important role in managing client relationships. You will also contribute to strategic initiatives that drive the growth of the construction group.
This position anticipates that you bring some experience with you, being able to lead the inspection or oversight of significant construction tasks with a high level of independence. This position provides progression towards managing multiple project tasks and becoming a project manager.
Location
This position provides a flexible work schedule, with three days working from the Novi, MI office and two days remotely.
The Impact You Will Have
Responsible for overseeing one or more key tasks on construction projects and complying with all project and company safety guidelines.
Perform construction inspection and documentation and communicate if the work observed appears in compliance with project requirements.
Prepare inspector's daily reports and other project documentation as required by the project procedures, and being the example for documentation that supporting staff will refer to and checking their work.
Report on progress of work, including technical issues, status of work remaining to be done and any noted deficiencies.
Be the main point of contact at the field level for the Benesch team, as well as, preparing calculations and supporting sketches for project documentation.
Perform basic documentation audits, log, track and/or prepare responses to submittals and RFI's, and perform materials testing including concrete testing and density testing.
Write meeting minutes and conduct select project meetings and participating in client events and relative association activities.
Assist with client relationships, as well as, assisting with writing responses to Requests for Proposals from clients.
What We Are Looking For
BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or in a related engineering curriculum required, EIT preferred.
6-15 years of working experience with MDOT is preferred.
Recent college grads are highly encouraged to apply!
Experience working on field projects desired.
Provide oversight and training of junior staff on projects.
Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills.
Strong organization and ability to perform services efficiently and within budgets and schedules.
Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.

SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Completes all required quality inspections following inspection instructions and/or product drawings.
• Use department databases to track and manage inspection workload and rejected products. Effectively follow SOPs, policies, and ISO/QSR requirements.
• Completes archival activities for device history records for lots inspected.
• Writes and processes Material Reject Reports, as necessary, and manage inventory that is on hold for quality inspection.
• Reviews and updates inspection plans as needed. Write DCO's (Engineering Change Requests) to update as required. Assist Operations personnel in maintenance and updating of other Device Master Record documentation.
• Provides support for the Quality System during corporate audits, actively participate in department activities and Perform audits of operations areas to confirm compliance with controlled procedures, as required
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:
• A bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Science or with 1-5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Inspection (or minimum 6 Yrs in a manufacturing environment where responsible for measurement of products) and preferably in an FDA regulated environment
• Ability to interpret instructions and drawings to effectively inspect product. Working knowledge of GD&T preferred.
• Ability to utilize multiple gauges and measurement tools for inspection of manufactured components and assemblies.
• Previous experience with CMM and/or Vision System operation is a plus.
• Use of math skills relative to physical measurement of product (calculations involving basic functions and some geometry/trigonometry in English and metric units)
• Knowledge of ISO, FDA and QSR concepts and guidelines preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a positive and collaborative manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately, follow instructions/schedules/timelines and handle multiple priorities.

What You Will Do:
You will lead and deliver inspector training and certification programs, serve as a Level III Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Inspector, and ensure all inspection activities meet SNT-TC-1A, QAPD, NRC, and DOE requirements. You'll develop and approve inspection procedures, perform and oversee complex inspections, manage qualifications and certifications, evaluate nonconformances, and verify corrective actions. You'll audit internal and third-party NDT programs, interface directly with regulators, guide engineering teams on inspection methods, and ensure all inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained-keeping safety, quality, and compliance at the forefront of every operation.
We'd Love to Hear From People With:
* Associate degree in a related technical field or equivalent quality experience
* 6+ years of progressive NDT experience in an industrial or nuclear environment
* Experience in quality control for design and construction and knowledge of field construction activities
* SNT-TC-1A certifications in Leak Testing (LT), Visual Testing (VT), and Ultrasonic Thickness (UT)
* AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Adobe for documentation and reporting
* Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a "Q" Clearance
A Successful Candidate Brings:
* Prior experience at an NRC-regulated site
* Bachelor's degree in Science or a technical discipline
* ASQ certifications or additional quality credentials
* Deep working knowledge of NQA-1, DOE O 414.1D, and nuclear quality programs
* Military inspection or quality experience
* Currently holding an active Q-level security clearance
