Position Overview:
The Director, Finance (Director) reports to the Vice President for Finance (VP Finance) of Communities In Schools of North Carolina (CISNC). Responsibilities include leading, managing, and participating in the monthly general ledger close processes, supporting technology implementations and enhancements, promoting strong internal controls throughout the organization, providing leadership and support for external audits and compliance reviews, and providing leadership for development and financial planning and analysis activities for CISNC and its subsidiaries. The Director is responsible for guiding and reviewing some work of non-direct reports on the Finance team.
All work is to be performed in compliance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (U.S. GAAP); federal, state, and local laws and regulations; and requirements set forth by Communities In Schools of North Carolina's (CISNC) funders.

Essential Functions:
Lead and manage select areas of the monthly close by reviewing and posting journal vouchers and reviewing and approving account reconciliations. Prepare select journal vouchers and account reconciliations for review by the VP Finance.
Ensure that financial reports are prepared accurately and timely, perform year-over-year and budget versus actual analysis, review results with team leads, present findings and recommendations to organizational leaders, and initiate corrective action as needed.
Prepare reports that show funding utilization to date, predicted future utilization, and projected variances against plan. Communicate status and projections proactively with the VP Finance and department leads with the goal of fully utilizing funding by the award period end. Prepare finance related content for reports due to grantor.
Support annual budget development by creating tools, templates, and training for the organization. Prepare content for presentations and the accounting system budget upload file.
Support the annual external audit by preparing select financial statements and footnotes and providing requested information for the auditors.
Support the annual review and update of CISNC's fiscal policies and procedures. Perform quarterly internal reviews to assess compliance with fiscal policies and procedures and lead remediation efforts in partnership with the VP Finance.
Prepare the annual Form 990s for CISNC and its affiliates.
Participate in, manage, and lead projects to achieve goals of the Finance department and company.

Position Overview:
This Director of Network Support is responsible for establishing, managing, and providing on-going program support and assistance to local CIS affiliates, including Boards, Executive Directors, and Program Directors to ensure the effective implementation of CIS Business and Student Support Standards. The Director will support affiliate leadership's strategy and partnership development with local school districts, including the use of data to describe their impact. In addition, the Director will support the strategy and development of state-wide initiatives to address chronic absenteeism and college and career readiness.
The Director of Network Support is a member of the Network Support Team who drives quality student supports and promotes sustainable and strong affiliate operations. This team deepens the impact of CIS across North Carolina by training, coaching, and providing program assistance to staff and board members across our network of affiliated organizations.
Essential Functions:
Designated point of contact for network leaders, board members and team members to access necessary resources and services offered by CISNC.
In coordination with the Network Support Team, plans, develops and implements training and strategic planning support for CIS Executive Directors and Boards, including retreats.
Assists Boards and Executive Directors to use data for continuous improvement, and communicate impact and strengthen relationships with partner school districts.
Facilitates groups of content experts to develop and launch strategic initiatives.
Supports the development of healthy non-profit organizations with strong business, board, risk management, and programmatic operations.
Collaborates with Directors to create an integrated plan for leadership development throughout the network (staff and board).
Coordinates with team to plan and implement Executive Director connections and retreats.
Collaborates with the team to maintain a sustainable network of affiliates that are fiscally and operationally sound.
As needed delivers training sessions to Executive Directors, Board Members, Program Directors, and Student Support Specialists.

The College & Career Specialist will take personal responsibility for ensuring that 35-45 high school students who are at risk of dropping out of school and/or failing to successfully transition into the workplace achieve expected outcomes, including graduation and placement into postsecondary education, the workforce and/or the military. He/she will provide targeted youth with employability and life survival skills through classroom instruction based on JAG's high school competencies, guidance/counseling, academic remediation, work-based learning experiences, summer activities, postsecondary, and career advisement and provides a twelve-month follow up period following graduation. This position is a full-time, year-round position dedicated to the implementation of the JAG Model and responsible for delivering the JAG High School Curriculum, classroom teaching and post-high school graduation placement/planning & case management to the implementation of the JAG Model and responsible for delivering the JAG High School Curriculum. The Specialist is responsible for reinforcing the competency-based lessons during other periods of time in which students and graduates are engaged in the JAG Multi-Year Program. Communities In Schools of North Carolina is seeking to fill a Student Support Specialist role who will coordinate integrated student supports at Concord Middle School, Concord, NC.
Responsible for the implementation of the CIS Model at a specific school site. Partnering with school leadership and staff, the Student Support Specialist will use the CIS Model to assess and identify the needs of identified youth (case managed students), while coordinating tiered interventions and support for the whole school population. This is an 11-month position: August-June.
