Observes and monitor play activities or amuses children by ready to or playing games with them. Engage with children 0-6 years in organized activities while staying in nursery, i.e., age-appropriate songs, stories, lessons, crafts, etc. Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which includes: feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, putting children down for naps, holding, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer. Universal precautions should always be used while time of body fluids. Ensures safety of the nursery environment, i.e., cleaning products and medications stored out of reach of children, outlet covers on electrical outlets, etc. Adherence to Woodland Baptist Church Child and Youth Safety Program. During time when children are present, perform cleaning and sanitizing routines as may be required. Such routines are to be performed upon children's departure as well. Participate and interact with children on a positive basis in order to enhance a loving, nurturing, and developmental environment. Adhere to hygiene requirements at all times (e.g., hand washing, using gloves when changing diapers, cleaning up spills, etc.) and check frequently on children's needs. Inform parents (or responsible adults) of any emergency or other condition affecting the child as called for in procedures adopted by the Church.
