The Community Director (Non-Exempt) is fully accountable for all day-to-day operations of a typically small asset/property (totaling less than 300 units and managing a staff of up to 5 Full-Time Employees (FTEs)). Responsibilities include overseeing and enhancing the value of the property(ies)/asset(s), and managing the asset(s) to meet the Client’s expressed operational and financial goals. Will supervise all on-site staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

* Minimum 1 year experience in a similar leadership role, preferably within Residential Property Management.
* High School diploma or equivalency certificate required. College degree in a relatable field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in the field of property management.
* Certification or designation from an accredited organization, preferred (ARM, CAM, CAPS, COS, CPM, MPM, RMP, etc.).
* Valid Driver's License, a good driving record, current motor vehicle insurance which meets State requirements, and an operable vehicle that meets FPI’s Driving Standards and Personal Vehicle Use policy.
* Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
* Strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Apps, property management-related software, email, internet).
Additional requirements for Affordable Housing properties:
* Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience with affordable housing programs including but not limited to: LIHTC, HUD programs (Project Based Section 8, Section 236, PRAC, 811 PRA), USDA-Rural Development (515), HCD, HOME Funds and Bonds.
* Affordable Housing Accreditation (e.g.: HCCP, HCP-E, COS, BOS, TCS, CPO) or other applicable designations in affordable programs.

CASA has a sister organization, CASA in Action, a separate, but related, nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c) (4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Although CASA and CASA in Action share a common goal of supporting immigrants and working class people in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Virginia, and across our national membership, they are separate organizations with their own board of directors. POSITION SUMMARY:
Director of Community Leadership will design and implement leadership curriculum for CASA members and organizers, which is reflective of CASA mission, vision, and values. The Director will also develop and facilitate train the trainer sessions for internal staff, leaders, and partner organizations. The Director will work closely with the Senior Director of Membership and the Chief of Organizing to ensure successful design, implementation and evaluation of all internal and external leadership development programming.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, some of the following, which are discussed and prioritized by the employee and supervisor, and reflected in individual and program annual workplans:
- Develop curriculum design protocols and work with Organizing staff to create leadership development curricula centered in base building and popular education
- Work with data and evaluation team to create evaluation instrument to track and measure intended outcomes and impact of leadership training program
- Create political education materials and training materials to support existing organizing campaigns and issue priorities
- Track, analyze and synthesize outcomes of leadership development program
- Support outreach and logistics for both internal and external trainings including member trainings, train the trainer workshops, partner convenings, and web-based or video trainings
- Ensuring program and grant deliverables are collected and reported upon accurately and in a timely manner
- Supervise staff, personnel, volunteers and consultants; ensuring that professional development opportunities are provided and all HR policies are followed
- Development and maintenance of relationships with key national, state, and local partner, including mentor relationship with CASA partners in other states.
- Maintain close contact with CASA’s Leadership Council and Board Members to ensure regular and informed participation in organizational decision-making.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor related to position.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
- Minimum of seven years’ experience working in non-profit or education/training sector, including experience with training/teaching and curriculum design.
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, or related field in program or curriculum design preferred.
- Valid US driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Demonstrated interest in working with the immigrant community especially working class Latino/as and strong commitment to social justice and the progressive movement;
