History: Founded in 1970, Community Friendship, Inc. (CFI) offers a comprehensive range of recovery-based programs, which provides support and training in self-sufficiency and independent living, career development, and full integration in the community.
In the winter of 1986-87, Friendship House first opened its doors as a thrift store to serve the growing community of individuals experiencing homelessness.
On April 1, 1987, the city fire marshal ordered FH to close until it was fully licensed as a shelter.
Friendship Community Church has a history of following Jesus together since 2000, when the church first began with three couples meeting at the basement family room of Pastor Verlyn and Carol Schaap.
