CIC's dedicated focus is to create business and affordable housing opportunities. The financial resources raised by CIC, from public and private sources, benefit the community by assisting entrepreneurs in creating and retaining jobs and for individuals in making the American dream of home ownership come true. Working with other entities, CIC maximizes acquired resources and leverages them to accomplish its mission through administering the following types of programs: The Micro-Enterprise Loan Program One-On-One Mentoring and Coaching for Entrepreneurs Down Payment Assistance Programs The Family Self-Sufficiency Loan Program (operated under contract for the Riverside County Department of Community Action). The intent of these programs is to provide access to capital to those who are unable to secure financing from traditional sources. CIC has a particular focus on borrowers who have traditionally had more difficulty in obtaining financing. Through February, 2005, CIC has provided technical assistance to over 1300 entrepreneurs. Approximately $1 million in micro loans has been extended to 98 businesses. CIC has created over 287 jobs. Over 100 households were assisted to purchase homes. CIC has assisted 82 families to pursue cottage industry activities, maintain employment, and to obtain or retain housing through the Family Self-Sufficiency Loan Program. In its role as a financial intermediary, CIC partners with the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County (CAP) in implementing the Individual Development Account Program (IDA). CIC works in collaboration with many public, non profit and private entities to carry out our mission. Aside from the programs CIC operates, CIC works to assist communities to maximize resources to carry out community, economic and redevelopment activities.
