This is a part time (0.2 - 0.4 Status), variable shift House Administrator position in the Nursing Administration Department. The House Administrator provides appropriate and competent staffing levels to meet identified patient care needs on all nursing units. The House Administrator is accountable for oversight of patient care, outcomes, customer and employee satisfaction, and monitoring productivity. The House Administrator exercises a high degree of autonomy in performing the assigned responsibilities and functions cooperatively with management and staff to support the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan of CMC. As a leader in patient care services, the House Administrator models the responsibilities to meet patient care needs to the extent of their abilities and training while fostering a harmonious work environment in which exceptional patient care and customer services is consistently provided. This individual promotes cooperative working relationships with staff, physicians, other disciplines, and the public by facilitating and enhancing communications, displaying honesty and respect, modeling sensitivity to cultural differences and expressing and accepting feedback in a professional manner. The House Administrator provides immediate supervision and direction to nursing units, support for clinical services and administrative presence in the absence of the Senior Leadership Team.
Minimum Required: Valid RN license in State of Montana. Must have 2-3 years experience in the clinical setting. Must be proficient in English, verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills. Must obtain BLS for Healthcare Provider within 90 days of hire.
Preferred/ Desired: BSN preferred. Prefer 5 years experience in the clinical setting, prior experience as house supervisor or in healthcare management.
Weekend Requirements: Variable

Under the direction of department leadership, the Care Manager provides services consisting of comprehensive care management, care coordination and care continuing care services. The Care Manager is accountable for a designated patient caseload/population and plans effectively in order to meet patient needs. The Care Manager is a support to providers and the multidisciplinary in facilitating patient care. The Care Manager strives to enhance the quality of clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction while managing the cost of care.
Essential Job Functions
Assessment

* Documentation and patient information shall be secured and maintained in accordance with Billings Clinic policy, HIPPA, state and federal guidelines.
Safety/Quality Assurance/Risk Management
* Identifies service gaps and participates in hospital and department programs to address and improve quality of care.
* Advocates for marginalized or vulnerable populations by identifying cases of abuse and neglect and appropriately involving risk management and regulatory agencies

Provides nursing leadership for the development, and advancement of nursing within the assigned areas. Ensures that a consistent level of nursing care is provided throughout the continuum of care and is accountable for the quality and cost effectiveness of nursing services provided. Develops objectives, policies, and procedures for assigned areas to formalize and implement the mission, vision, and values of Billings Clinic. * In collaboration with physician leadership and other medical staff, administration, and other health care providers, develops and implements short and long range plans, and leads, develops and revises programs which enhance department services.

The Transfer Center Nurse is the first point of contact when a regional provider is seeking assistance for their patient through the Billings Clinic Transfer Center. The nurse coordinates conversations with providers to care for patients in their home community as well as coordinates the transfers when a patient is needing a higher level of care. The ability to manage competing priorities and technologies without compromising accuracy, efficiency, and safety is essential to the success of this position. The Nurse must possess outstanding customer service skills, proficient knowledge of pathophysiology and disease processes, and astute critical thinking and triage skills.

* Performs nursing triage to identify the providers, clinicians, and staff necessary to support medical conversations and transfers Billings Clinic

The incumbent in this position acts as an advocate for patients serving as the primary point of contact and is responsible for coordinating the care and services of the identified neurology patient populations for an extended period of time across the continuum of care for both inpatient and outpatient services; promoting effective resource utilization; assuming a leadership role with the multidisciplinary team to achieve an optimal clinical outcome.
This role requires the candidate to assist in a variety of clinical and operational aspects of workflow within the Neurology Department. The nurses in the Cardiology Department will be responsible for applying evidence-based nursing practice to the care of patients over the course of their lifespan. This involves the integration of education and research into the practice through the application of standards and guidelines. Data collection and assessment are used to establish goals and priorities in accordance with patient care, staff needs, and organizational objectives. Nurses are accountable for the quality of care rendered.
Essential Job Functions

* Maintains appropriate theoretical and clinical skills with application and patient relevance of commonly utilized equipment specific to the Cardiology Department and other areas as appropriate; pharmacological application; application of laboratory values and radiologic findings with disease process or physiological status.
* Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve the quality of patient care. Evaluates current nursing practices within the Cardiology Department to identify opportunities for modification that would enhance professional practice, maintain or improve patient care while remaining fiscally sound.
* Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains proficiency and knowledge within a rapidly changing environment.
* Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the Cardiology department or organization.

Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Non-Exempt)

Under general supervision, utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, and theoretical/clinical skills in the promotion/maintenance of health. Incorporates evidence-based nursing practices consistent with national standards and which support quality outcomes. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the quality of nursing care rendered.
Essential Job Functions
* Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
* Utilizing a holistic approach and evidence-based nursing practices, incorporates the nursing process into the goal directed plan of care for the patient. Plan of care should include planning and scheduling of intervention/care and collaboration with other services/departments.
* Prepares and administers various medications and injections; collects and analyzes specimens as directed.
* Provides and/or assists with patient care, minor procedures and treatments within the scope of practice.
* Communicates appointments, specialty procedures, and instructions by phone, in writing, and in person; coordinates patient information with other facilities, departments, and staff as appropriate.
* Provides education, instructions, and advice to patients as directed by physician with consideration to age-appropriate care.
* Responsible for documentation within clinical records (both electronic or written) of all patient care or treatments provided
* Enters physician orders into clinical information systems.
* Evaluates patient status via phone and in office setting. Advises patient appropriately (i.e., wound status, post-operative, etc.).
* Plans and organizes the workday to meet the needs of the designated area.
* Provides office clerical and administrative services as directed or as needed to maximize workflow, patient through put and to maximize provider resources.
* Assists with provider documentation, charge capture and billing code capture.
* Delegates work assignments within the scope of practice to other team members (LPN, Medical Assistant or Patient Service Representative) to meet the needs of the facility.
* Plans, organizes, implements, evaluates and documents safe patient care consistent with organizational values/goals, policies and procedures.
* Adheres to patient safety standards and identifies and anticipates problems and safety issues and initiates appropriate action.
* Maintains appropriate skill/knowledge in specialty area with application and patient relevance of commonly used equipment specific to area; pharmacological application; application of laboratory values with disease process and physiological status.
* Analyzes and shares the practice implications of nursing research in specialty areas.
* Performs or assists with various procedures such as competency and training permit (e.g., dobutamine stress tests, conscious sedation, spirometry, IVs, and patient recovery, etc.)
* Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess, enhance, and/or improve the quality of care. Participates in the incorporation of evidence-based outcomes and core principles, state survey/accreditation readiness activities, quality audits, quality improvement and patient safety teams, peer review processes, etc.
* Develops collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers to enhance quality practice.
* Takes responsibility for identification of own professional growth and developmental needs; meets all system/departmental educational requirements.
* Demonstrates positive, supportive, and caring behaviors in communication with patients, families, visitors, physicians, staff, and others.
* Consideration is given to the appropriateness of care based on the population specific needs of the patient. Nursing practice is delivered with compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth and uniqueness of every individual, unrestricted by considerations of social or economic status, personal attributes or the nature of health problems
* Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

* Float to other nursing areas within the hospital
Minimum Qualifications
Education
* Two (2) year / Associate's Degree
* Four (4) year / Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience
* Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an RN working in a hospital, physician clinic or other medical facility, preferred
Certification / Licensure
* Current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification or become CPR certified prior to working in a patient care environment, typically accomplished during the first week of orientation.
* Current ACLS certification required for RN's who perform procedures (e.g. dobutamine stress test, conscious sedation, etc.) and must be able to obtain within 9 months of employment
* Healthcare Provider CPR Certification required
* Current Montana state license as a registerednurse required
