Pay for PRN positions is calculated differently than Full-Time, Regular Part-Time, and Part-Time positions. PRN Rates depend on the position and other factors, including years of experience, or shift commitment according to the department policy. PRN differential is added in certain positions.
Responsibilities
Position Overview:
CNA II is required to cross train in the acute care setting and work four (4) 12 hour shifts per calendar year in the Acute Care setting. The primary function is to provide each of assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan and as may be directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Required:
* High school Diploma or equivalent (GED).
* Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred:
* Six (6) months of CNA experience performing Nursing/Patient Care duties in an acute care setting or skilled nursing facility.
* Previous experience as a telemetry monitor technician
* Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification

Base pay: $21.00 - $31.50 / hour JOB SUMMARYMedical Scribes are individuals trained in medical documentation who assist a provider throughout their shift. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician. It will be the responsibility of the Medical Scribe to annotate any dictated or written information for the treatment of patients following all local, state and federal guidelines for documentation into the electronic health record system. The Medical Scribe will be responsible for clearly recording each patient's symptoms, history, physical exam and documenting the diagnosis. This position will have no direct involvement in patient care but has an interdepartmental role in assisting nursing and front office staff.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary role of the Medical Scribe is to assist the clinician with documentation of each patient's medical chart during his or her visit.
Accompany the clinician into the patient examination area to transcribe a history and physical examination as given by the patient and physician.
Document any procedures performed by the clinician or nurses, on the electronic medical chart.
Is an expert in the use of various templates and documentation techniques available in the EHR system and uses these tools efficiently so individual encounters can be well documented, as well as accurately congregate data collected for statistical reporting.
Transcribes any consultations or discussions with family members and/or the clinician.
Completes the patient's chart by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations. In doing so, the scribe continuously checks on the progress of this data to get the patient's workup complete so that the clinician is able to make his or her decisions regarding that patient.
Orders in-house testing, Immunizations, lab testing, diagnostic testing along with generating referrals.
Lists all proper diagnoses as well as any follow up instructions and prescriptions, as dictated by the clinician.
Other duties as assigned.

A Scribe can be trained to handle Patient Portal tasks for your assigned provider and chart abstraction.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details quickly and accurately.
Must be able to listen to complex medical information and summarize in a clear, complete, and concise fashion.
Strong attention to detail.
Computer proficiency in Windows environment and ability to quickly learn new applications.
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing.
Ability to type 45 WPM or greater
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
One year experience in healthcare field or minimum 2 years of college education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
2-4 years of college education desired with Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology coursework/degree.
Experience working in an outpatient clinic or doctor's office.
Medical Transcriptionist experience.
Typing 60 WPM or greater.

Scribe-Specific Tasks and Duties:

Scribe assists the provider and support staff with paperwork, telephone calls, faxing, and chart abstraction and may facilitate communication among the care team.
Scribe is able to process portal communications and either task to appropriate member of the care team or get information from the provider to respond to the patient in a timely way.
The Medical Scribe does not perform the following:
Medications: A scribe cannot prescribe medications. Scribes cannot stop, start, or make any manipulation to any medications in the "medication module”.
Orders: A scribe cannot order any in-house medications that are injected, ingested, or inhaled into the body including nebulizer treatments.
Document Sign Off: The provider should always review the record and attest to its correctness and completeness. At the end of the day or shift, the provider should review the scribed documentation to ensure all events were recorded accurately. The provider generates the document, creating the completed "Master IM." The scribe does not.
Patient Care: The scribe is not directly involved with patient care; can't touch the patient; can't handle bodily fluids; can't act independently without direct clinical oversight; conduct other duties while acting as the medical scribe; however, he/she may be asked to give patient paperwork during visit or discuss discharge instructions with a patient. The scribe can't give orders to Registered Nurses. They interact with patients on a limited level. For exceptions to this section, please see the “Optional Trainable Skills” section below.
General Documentation: A scribe cannot document any of his/her personal objective findings or be involved in any of the medical decision-making. A scribe cannot act independently; instead, he/she must simply document the provider's dictation and or/activities during the visit.
Optional Trainable Skills:
With the permission of medical/operational leadership and participation in an in-house training/competency program, a Scribe can be trained to perform vitals, room patients.

Job Summary: The Medical Transcriptionist-Pathology transcribes medical dictation to provide a permanent record of patient care. Understands and complies with policies and procedures related to medicolegal matters, including confidentiality, amendment of medical records, release of information, patients' rights, etc. Prepares multiple tumor boards for pathologists' presentations. Receives and accession in-coming and outgoing consultations. Prepares an extensive number and complexity of send-outs requiring extensive pathology knowledge for pathologists, the cancer center, the transplant service, and others. Receives and manages protocol requests to support LLUH clinical trials. Monitors daily pathology reports migration from Cerner to Epic. Mails pathology reports to non LLUMC clinicians. Coordinates slide delivery within all entities depending on Pathologists' rotations meeting critical times for Murrieta, Surgical Hospital, TMC and FMO. Operates designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment as directed to complete assignments. Provides administrative, clerical, and technical support as needed and as assigned. Receives and serves customers. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC, LLUMC-Murrieta, and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Two years of experience as a Pathology Transcriptionist in an accredited acute facility required. Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) or two to five years of experience transcribing Surgical Pathology Reports preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Possesses excellent dexterity and analytic skills. Ability to operate clerical equipment, input data and type.
