The Behavioral Services Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of positive behavioral support plans for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities served by Community Services Group (CSG) in a variety of settings. The Behavioral Services Specialist works closely with supervisory and direct service staff to monitor the development and implementation of positive behavioral support plans. This position is responsible for ensuring individuals' rights and quality behavioral support in accordance with the principles of self-determination, Positive Behavior Support, Applied Behavior Analysis, recovery and resiliency and CSG policies. The Behavioral Services Specialist reports directly to the Director of Clinical Services or designee.
Wage Information:
$48,000 per year. CSG is offering a $1,000.00 Sign-On-Bonus for this position that will be paid after successful completion of the initial evaluation period.
Job Description:
Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) including indirect methods (interviews, record review) and direct methods (observations, ABC data collection), to determine the function of challenging behaviors.
Monitors individuals' progress through on-site visits, data collection, and periodic assessments to ensure appropriate and adequate programs.
Develop individualized, data-driven Behavior Support Plans (BSP) based on FBA findings, incorporating positive, proactive, trauma informed,and least restrictive strategies and using a whole person biopsychosocial approach.
Design and recommend environmental modifications, antecedent strategies, and replacement skill training.
Participates in the development of individual service or treatment plans to determine long and short term goals.
Reviews individual service plans with program specialists to ensure accuracy, thoroughness and recommends revisions as individuals' needs change.
Supervises the completion of periodic progress reports and monitors all program records to ensure active rehabilitation.
Leads training for support staff on positive behavioral support techniques and other pertinent topics to enhance staff effectiveness.
Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of assessments, plans, progress notes, and service delivery in compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations.
Collaborates with direct service staff in creating goal plans and behavioral support plans.
Demonstrates knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, autism, trauma informed care, Down Syndrome and other common disorders.
Implements best practice behavioral interventions.
Qualifications:
This position requires the following combination of education and experience:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in special education, psychology, counseling, social work, education, applied behavior analysis, or gerontology and two years of direct experience supporting individuals with mental illness/intellectual and developmental disabilities. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is preferred.

* The BHT is supervised by a Qualified Mental Health Professional, participates as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, and implements specific treatment goals.
* Their goal is to implement sound clinical interventions and supportive services to enable children/adolescents to maintain and function to the best of their ability in the least restrictive setting.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Educates coworker's on any needed physical health matter for consistency in care.
Works with and coordinates care with pharmacy, physicians, and other health care providers.

Completes medication progress sheets daily if regulated by program.
Completes medication release forms for discharge, as needed if regulated by program.

Schedules and attends individuals' medical appointments.
Drives van to appointments and outings and assists individuals in and out of the van.
Assists individuals in community settings.
Provides or directs the provision of nursing care in accordance with the nurse practice act and legal responsibilities as defined by the State Board of nursing.
Facilitates weekly Wellness Groups for residents.
Conducts pre-evaluation for psychiatric evaluation as needed.

Adolescent RTF Additional Duties for PRN/On-Call:
Available to respond to requests for post-emergency safety intervention face-to-face assessments as needed
Completes face-to-face assessments of residents within 1 hour following an emergency safety intervention being initiated.
Trained in the use of emergency safety interventions

The Behavioral Intervention Clinician is responsible for providing direct clinical care, support and training services to individuals with Mental Health (MH)/Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD), their families and their teams. Job Description:
Works directly with individuals, families, and groups to address and treat emotional and mental illnesses, behavioral challenges and to promote wellness.
Conducts multi-dimensional assessments including functional behavioral assessments, motivational assessment scales, and other necessary assessments as needed.
Utilizes direct instruction, coaching, modeling and facilitation to teach skills.
Designs, implements and monitors behavioral plans/ crisis management plans for individuals with mental health needs and intellectual disabilities.
Provides information, training and technical assistance to teams in the areas of trauma, dual diagnosis, psychiatric symptom management, positive behavior supports, autism, behavior shaping techniques, crisis management, etc.
Leads and facilitates teams and provides conflict resolution within teams.
Acts as a resource person for the individual, nurse, interdisciplinary team members and other auxiliary staff in areas related to behavioral programming.
Participates in team meetings, therapy appointments etc. relating to individuals as requested in order to provide guidance and support to staff.
Monitors individuals' progress through direct interaction, on-site visits, data collection and analysis to ensure appropriate and adequate team follow through with behavior plans, tracking sheets, psychiatric PRN protocols and other monitoring tools.
May be requested to participate in the development of individual service or treatment plans to determine long and short term goals.
Works closely with other specialists to maximize the level of care.
