South Georgia Technical College's primary focus is to place its students in a job after graduation. As if that weren't enough, students that attend South Georgia Tech have options and flexibility. First of all, they have choices between the Americus or Crisp County Center campuses. Other examples of South Georgia Tech's flexibility may be seen in the various schedule offerings. Students may take classes during the day, in the evening and online. South Georgia Tech even offers a fasttrack option whereby students complete their program in a shortened amount of time. South Georgia Tech's programs are offered in Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Marketing Management, Practical Nursing and Environmental Horticulture among others. Certifications, diplomas and associate's degrees are granted and, depending on which of these one undertakes, could take anywhere from two quarters to two years to complete. South Georgia Tech also has a lively campus atmosphere, which allows students to unwind and socialize. There are student clubs, a basketball team, a recreation center and other offerings. Since students have the option to live on campus they may take full advantage of all the offerings at South Georgia Tech. HOPE grants and scholarships are two examples of the financial aid options offered at South Georgia Tech to those who qualify. Students may also take out loans.

Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) prides itself on its caring, student-first attitude. Located in the small town of Americus, this mid-sized university provides academic and social diversity while maintaining the comfortable, friendly atmosphere of a smaller school. The university's academics include dozens of undergraduate programs leading to a certificate or a bachelor's degree. Among these is a unique dual-degree opportunity in Computer Science & Computer Engineering, offered in conjunction with Georgia Institute of Technology. Graduate studies at GSW include master's degrees in English, Computer Science, Business Administration and Education (Curriculum & Instruction). The university also offers a specialist program in Teacher Leadership. Financial is available at GSW in the form of grants, loans, work-study and institutional scholarships. Note that most financial aid opportunities are reserved for undergraduates, and graduate students may be limited to federal loans and private scholarships. To apply for financial aid, make sure to complete the FAFSA as soon as you can after January 1. GSW has a rolling admissions policy. There is no official application deadline, as students are admitted until space is filled. Because of this, it's a good idea to apply early in order to increase your chances of admission.
