Students applying for music majors must audition; students applying for an arts major must submit a required essay and portfolio that demonstrates creative ability. Tuition is set lower for Delaware residents. Applicants who file a FAFSA by December 1 will be considered to receive merit-based scholarships. Other forms of financial aid include need-based federal aid.

It is also the college's oldest location, established in 1967 as the Southern campus then renamed in 1995. Student life at DTCC Owens will certainly appeal to athletes.
