SFP works in rural areas of the Dominican Republic. In the fiscal year October 2019 through September 2020 our efforts in the mountains of Villa Altagracia county within the province of San Cristobal in the community of La Rosa, just 45 minutes northwest of Santo Domingo. In SFP FY 2019-2020 20 30 Volunteers participated programs in the Dominican Republic to complete the implement the water harvesting project in homes in the community of La Rosa SFP sent 5 Volunteer Interns to work in the community and to support the ongoing community development programs in the community of La Rosa. During the beginning of the COVID Pandemic SFP helped the communities around La Rosa to develop strategies to build resiliency in the communities such as home agricultural projects to provide for local needs for fresh produce as well as safe strategies to prevent the spread of COVID within the communities.
