+ Provides strong compliance support to ensure timely and accurate problem resolution while mitigating risk exposure.

+ Engages in continuous monitoring, reviewing and completion of impact analysis of legislative and regulatory developments in the employment law space at the federal, state and local level in the areas of wage/hour, discrimination, leaves, and immigration.

+ Communicates and provides assessments and recommendations to internal business partners around potential impact of regulatory/legislative developments on company, products/service and clients and consult on requirements for product changes and internal/external communications.

+ Conducts research on complex compliance risk-centric issues in the employment law arena potentially impacting Paychex products and services, including proactive identification of regulatory and legislative developments which may provide business opportunity or challenges to the company, to support stakeholders in strategic business decisions. Recommends changes to products or services based on research and analysis.

+ Develops and maintains constructive, influential relationships with internal and external business partners to ensure compliance needs are properly communicated and executed, as well as to minimize impact/cost of compliance to Paychex. May represent the company as needed on industry groups/coalitions.

+ Assesses compliance implications of potential acquisitions, new products and product enhancements, advertising/marketing/training materials, and other corporate strategic initiatives to ensure compliance objectives are achieved.

+ Serves as subject matter expert on assigned Paychex products and services, including laws/regulations, enacted and proposed legislation, official guidance, trends, and industry best practices applicable to assigned area of responsibility. Partners with and makes recommendations to Compliance leadership and business management to ensure compliance with pertinent federal, state, local, and international regulatory requirements and company policies.

+ Provides actionable, comprehensive risk analysis on complex regulatory and other compliance matters to internal partners where necessary and as requested. Proactively prepares regular gap and other needs-based analysis and provides risk mitigation measures relative to Paychex products and services to provide risk mitigation measures.

+ Creates opportunities for business partner continuous learning through compliance alerts, weekly letters, webinars, training sessions, and newsletters.

+ Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position's function.

Responsibilities

* Ensure full compliance for export transactions, including export license determination, shipper's letter of instruction, filing of electronic export information and all Company trade compliance policies and procedures.
* Work with various functional areas to facilitate product imports and exports.
* Prepare import/export related documentation including Commercial invoices and required shipping documentation.
* Interface with freight forwarders and customs brokers to process import and export shipments, resolve shipment delays, and provide logistics support/traceability.
* Submit required customs (ACE) filings for international shipments.
