Must be a US Citizen Trade Compliance Specialist of logistics and documentation involved in the international import and export shipments of the US export-controlled goods (subject to EAR and ITAR licensing) at the manufacturing site by implementing appropriate work procedures and responsible for the movement of merchandise in/out of the country in compliance with all federal, custom and local regulations. Job Duties Education requirement (must have): Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business Administration or a related discipline. Strong understanding and experience of U.S. import/export regulations and operations. Prior work experience classifying items such as HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN from top level assemblies through component levels. Prior experience of submitting Electronic Export Information (EEI) to ACE portal. Well organized, detail oriented, and able to work independently to drive on-time delivery goals. Knowledge of other government agencies (e.g., FDA, EAR, ITAR, and OFAC). Experience in record keeping requirements, rules and regulations. Must be eligible to obtain DOD security clearance. Coordinate and manage the import and export clearance process, including preparing accurate shipping documentation, customs declaration and compliance with Federal and Customs regulations. Perform as the central point of contact for export and import customs transactions at the manufacturing site. Interface with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other import and export related parties as appropriate to ensure compliance with procedures and regulations. Submit Electronic Export Information (EEI) and ACE portal for export transactions. Monitor shipments from origin to destination, resolving any issues that may arise during transit. Monitor imports and export license utilization, decrement, and closures. Assist Trade Compliance Officer in determining jurisdiction and import-export classifications for goods and technologies, including Harmonized Tariff schedule (HTS) codes, U.S. Munition List numbers (USML) and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) and developing classification decision rationale, heuristics and methodology for various product lines to improve efficiency in classification while maintaining accuracy. Support MRO team - issue MRO and coordinate shipments of 9801 US Goods returns. Accurately maintain import and export related transactions records and logs, including but not limited to import/export clearance records, contract document, export license and freight/duty record, etc. Timely audit customs entries (7501) for correctness and conformity with appropriate documents and regulations.
