The Spirit of the Position:
The Compliance Specialist, California Wage and Hour reports to the California Labor and Employment Counsel and is responsible for mitigating legal risk for the company operations in California in areas such as labor relations, wage and hour compliance and employee relations. As an integral part of the company's legal and compliance team, the Compliance Specialist leads projects for a wide variety of compliance-related matters, including potential litigation; labor disputes; wage and hour compliance; etc. In partnership with Human Resources, he/she helps to establish processes, best practices and SOPs for the Payroll, Operations and Human Resources teams in California. S/he leads a team of compliance professionals to ensure best practices from an employment and risk mitigation standpoint.

Salary range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 base salary plus performance bonus.
Principal Job Duties:

Collaborate with legal counsel to provide guidance/advice in situations that arise as needed related to labor, wage and hour, employment, and other employment-related matters. Establish templates and/or other processes, standards and best practices for the California Payroll, Operations and Human Resources teams. Lead/manage members of the Compliance Department and partner with Legal Department leaders on the strategic plan for the compliance team as the company grows. Write and deliver memos (or other reports) that describe exposure on pending litigation or other compliance matters. Review and analyze legal and regulatory developments and trends and determine potential impact and applicability as necessary. Collaborate with Payroll and Human Resources to develop, provide and oversee training to staff regarding compliance topics. Audit employment related records to ensure full compliance to CA local and state regulations and laws. Other duties as needed.

At least 3 years of California compliance experience in the areas of employment or wage and hour. Experience with HR compliance laws.

BAE Systems is seeking a Facilities Compliance Specialist to support in York, Pennsylvania. In this role, the Facilities Compliance Specialist provides technical and advisory support for Facilities Compliance with regulatory agencies, internal policies and procedures, risk mitigation, and safety. This position will report to the Facilities Compliance Manager and be a resource to Facilities Managers. The position will play a critical role to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and mitigating associated risk. Support activities include OSHA and local code requirements, Safe Work Permits, site safety performance, reviewing work processes, hazard identification, risk assessment, implementation of operational controls, and maintenance compliance.
Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
Support the site Facilities Managers in reviewing projects and identify/control risks through assessments. Support sites to assess ongoing work conditions to ensure compliance. Work with Facilities and the SHE department to monitor ongoing activities and reduce risk to employees. In some cases, execute & maintain safety related paperwork, relevant work permits and assessments. Support RIPT (Regulatory Inspection, Permits, and Testing) related Work Orders and Preventative Maintenance Tasks. This will include performing or assisting with scheduling, planning, and purchasing tasks. Ensure adequate risk assessment, hazard analysis and elimination/mitigation measures for Facilities work processes. This could include providing a framework and associated training to support these activities. Coach employees and contractors who fail to comply with safety standards. Monitor site performance through inspections/audits, and partner with leadership on appropriate action and follow-up. Help maintain site safety data and performance metrics, including online management systems and presentations to leadership. Provide support to leadership to encourage a strong and collaborative safe work behavior culture.



Required Skills and Education



Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management or Engineering, and four (4) years experience working within a full service Facility Management environment, or the overall equivalent. Working knowledge and experience with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, FCC, and other local regulatory requirements. Experience working in a blended office, manufacturing, and warehouse setting. Ability to assess facilities problems and recommend solutions. Working expertise in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel. Excellent communication skills to nurture collaborative relations with team members, internal and external customers, subject matter experts, etc.
