Job Details:
Provide components and standards engineering for various Cubic product lines. Apply systems engineering principles and skills to systematically analyze emerging part issues, standardize parts configuration, obsolete parts management. Responsible for Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) planning, monitoring and resolution, part standardization, and processing Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) alerts.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform analyses and trade studies as necessary to aid in the selection of systems and parts.Integrate specialty engineering disciplines into part selection.Review developing hardware designs to ensure compliance with part standardization requirements, system, design, drawing standards, and part availability for the lifecycle.Utilize SAP Enterprise resource planning (ERP) to monitor and input part related changes and data.Participate in GIDEP alert resolution and investigation.Monitor and manage all aspects of Cubic's DMSMS process using various tools, including Information Handling Services (IHS).Use Silicon Expert to evaluate alternative component selections and monitor life cycles Advise program managers and project engineers of emerging part obsolescence issues.Maintain the part catalog, and specification library within PLM.Maintain Information Handling Services (IHS) subscriptions.Generate formal reports concerning DMSMS.Identification of hazardous material content in products.Identification of conflict, and critical material content in products.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline plus a minimum of two years' experience or an applicable Master's of Science degree. . Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to use typical office automation products such as word processors and spreadsheets. Mental ability to perform analytical work. Ability to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks and work under deadlines. Good interpersonal skills. May be required to travel domestically and internationally.

Talascend is currently seeking a Design Release Engineer of Front and Rear Closures Systems for a long-term contract career opportunity in Automotive with our client located in Auburn Hills, MI.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the USA for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future.

The Design Release Engineer (DRE) will be responsible for the development and execution of front & rear closure systems. You have prior experience working on hoods, liftgates, decklids, fenders, gas props, manual props and/or the sealing / hardware interfaces of each. The successful candidate has directly related product experience creating closures from initial concept through full volume production.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Packaging, designing and developing front and rear door assemblies with the Suppliers for release in accordance with the functional objectives.
Collaboration with local engineering teams, Architecture/Vehicle Concepts, program science teams & PDO with iterative models to align with all packaging, functional objectives and system requirements.
Providing feasibility input to the advanced engineering team and works closely with the other functional areas packaged adjacent to their parts to ensure all clearance requirements are achieved.
The engineer will provide launch support at the assembly plant.
Determine root cause of issues using structured problem solving and write appropriate change notices.
Manage and support DV/PV testing with the supplier to meet program timing.
Responsible for change management, EBOM, cost and mass imperatives.
Releasing completed geometry using Siemens NX and TeamCenter.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Two or more years of experience in door systems (front/rear closures, hardware or sealing systems).
Skilled using Siemens NX and TeamCenter.
Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
Experience using GD&T, Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) and Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
Exceptional organization and time management skills are necessary.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent teamwork and learner mindset.
Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
Candidates must be able to travel (locally) to the assembly plants.
Knowledge of injection molding, desired
Experience with Optics and related electronics, preferred.

Components Engineer Contract Job - Orlando, FL Pay Rate: $43.78/ Hr.

• Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical (EEE) component experts and who possess experience influencing part selection and design.
• Supplier management for Aerospace & Defense products / programs.
• The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, finance, quality, production, etc.) to evaluate design trade-offs, support producibility, drive commonality, and manage requirements flow down efficiently while aligning with the Programs overall procurement strategy, helping to reduce lead time, and promote business objectives of resiliency, cost, cash, and growth.
• This is an experienced professional, mid-level engineering role; ideal candidates will have approximately 2-5 years of Component Engineering experience in the Aerospace or a similar, highly regulated field (Military Defense, Medical, etc.) Strong interpersonal skills, innovation, and willingness to respectfully challenge the assumptions is critical.
• Catalogue and monitor EEE product category for configuration, design criteria, etc. to drive part number rationalization, maximize the number of suppliers available for competition, and facilitate next-generation product / Program improvements

Basic Qualifications:

• • 5 years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or engineering

Preferred Skills and Experience
