Pay range is between $28-$38/hr., depending upon experience and skillset.
Hours: Monday-Friday 7a-4p
Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
Routine and preventive maintenance production equipment.
Installation and repair of equipment.
Building maintenance.
Fabrication of equipment and functional parts.
Tool room up keep and parts inventory.
Routine maintenance on tow motors.
Assemble/install and or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
Skills and Requirements
5+ years experience
Know and understand basic safety and power tools
Mathematical aptitude
Electrical aptitude including wiring systems, pumps, motors and knowledge of 110v, 240v, 480v, single and three phase and basic PLC's
Control systems and PLC experience in a process driven manufacturing environment.
Knowledge base in building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing and equipment maintenance including pneumatics and hydraulics.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs

Mix, compound, process, test, adjust, and modify ingredients to successfully complete the manufacturing process of personal care products.
Ensure all production meets customer specifications and quality standards.

At Chesterton, we have a laser focus on our customers. The Manufacturing Operator is a frontline manufacturing position responsible for producing our Mechanical Packing material. This job requires a combination of mechanical maintenance skills (utilizing machinery and various hand tools) physical laboring skills and quality skills. In this role, the employee should be able to operate a variety of equipment in a production/processing operation, measure and check raw materials to ensure product compliance, and maintain proper manufacturing records to comply with department regulations.

All fully remote positions will require you to travel on site 2-4 times per month depending upon business needs at your own expense.
Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.

At Chesterton, we have a laser focus on our customers. The Manufacturing Operator is a frontline manufacturing position responsible for producing our Mechanical Packing material. This job requires a combination of mechanical maintenance skills (utilizing machinery and various hand tools) physical laboring skills and quality skills. In this role, the employee should be able to operate a variety of equipment in a production/processing operation, measure and check raw materials to ensure product compliance, and maintain proper manufacturing records to comply with department regulations.
Job Model: On-Site
All fully remote positions will require you to travel on site 2-4 times per month depending upon business needs at your own expense.

Position: 2nd Shift Specialized Manufacturing Operator
Job Summary
Currently, we are hiring a Specialized Manufacturing Operator for our manufacturing site. As a Specialized Manufacturing Operator, you are responsible for operating the company's pre expander equipment to provide for adequate expanded resins in the designated and specified densities to meet the facilities production requirements.
Pay: $ 17.00
Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00pm to 10:30pm
Responsibilities
Operation of batch pre-expander, continuous expander, and/or raw material tipper, as assigned.
Performs the unloading of EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) materials) received in bulk trailers using designated vacuum system designed for such purpose, ensuring that the bulk material is loaded into the correct storage silo(s).
Ensure that the information on the material inventory board(s) are accurate and up to date.
Retrieve raw material(s) from inventory for expansion.
Inspect expansion equipment prior to operation to insure its safe operating condition.
Insure the proper location and storage of expanded bead in the designated storage hopper(s).
Records expansion data on Bead Storage Location board and reports expansion activity to Inventory Control Specialist.
Reports raw material usage on the Raw material Daily Report and also delivers that report to the Inventory Control; Specialist or other person designated to enter resin consumption data into the company's inventory control system(s).
Performs sampling tests on raw materials and delivers the resulting data to the Quality team.
Insures that expanded bead has passed the appropriate quality inspection(s) and is approved for use in production.
Compliance with legal environmental and safety requirements of the area.
Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.
Know the environmental impacts associated with their activities
Follow all Environmental and Safety policies.
Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Observation - ability to visually inspect parts during the production operation and properly determine whether the parts meet quality standards.
Reading Comprehension - Understanding written instructions contained in work-related documents.
Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate,
Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Ability to use manual pallet jack or other designated material handling equipment to move finished good parts and/or components to/from the assigned workstation.

Physical Demands
Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
