Under the supervision of the Clinic Operations Manager, the Call Center Medical Receptionist serves as primary point for patient telephone access to Arroyo Vista Family Health Center. The Call Center Medical Receptionist answers, greets, screens, and directs incoming and outgoing telephone calls, electronic messages and other web-based communications. Responds to basic inquires and refers to appropriate clinic personnel. Contacts and distributes messages to medical personnel using a variety of electronic methods including voice and email systems. The Call Center Medical Receptionist is cross-trained with medical reception duties and schedules and confirms initial and follow-up medical appointments, registers patients and performs insurance verification. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for welcoming patients and visitors in a friendly, professional and courteous manner both in person and on the telephone. Duties: Responsible for providing care coordination and patient access to specialty care in accordance Arroyo Vista UM Policy 107, the Joint Commission's Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) standards and contracted managed care agencies guidelines. Responsible for communicating with patient and/or caregiver, the referring provider and specialty offices, as necessary and in compliance with agency care coordination policy standards. Including but not limited to proving support with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, contact with offices, authorizations and modifications, redirection of services, retrieval of specialist progress notes, etc. Responsible for using standards of documentation and maintaining confidentiality as per Agency policy and procedures. Full-time Description TITLE: Medical Assistant (back office) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to the experience and education that are required by Federal, State, and Local guidelines.
