Essential duties:
· Support Owners in all aspects of running the business.
· Manage and safeguard the stores assets and ensure that internal controls are in place.
· Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
· Prepare complete financial statements monthly according to dealership guidelines.
· Manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the store to ensure that all transactions are recorded in compliance with dealership accounting processes and policies.
· Reviews the general ledger and schedule accounts for accuracy.
· Reviews the reconciliation of general ledger accounts to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payables, floor plan payable, A/R and A/P.

· Must have the ability to use automotive accounting software.
· Ensures that all manufacturer accounts including warranty claims, rebates, parts inventory, and co-op advertising accounts are current and accurate.

Description:
The Comptroller provides sound leadership, direction, planning, administration, oversight, andimplementation of the policies, procedures, and objectives in accordance with LYNX strategies, mission, and values. Responsibilities include administration of the organization's key finance functions to include, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, materials management, property management and compliance with generally accepted accounting standards and state statutes. Serves as LYNX's internal auditor coordinating and performing assessments of business functions and operations. Acts as Director of Finance in his/her absence.
Essential Functions (regardless of primary responsibility):
•Manages a staff comprised of exempt management, technical and non-exempt personnel at multiple facilities operating 24 hours per day/7 days per week; oversees staff responsible for the application of material planning and inventory management concepts and inventory investment levels.
•Develops strong leadership and management competencies including integrity, accountability, communication skills, and commitment to teamwork and excellence in responsibilities such as selecting, mentoring, coaching, supervising, motivating, developing, training and evaluating the performance of assigned staff.
•Manages the overall planning and management of the financial operations system; develops and maintains organizational cost allocation models; supervises the installation and maintenance of financial and fare collection operations; establishes and implements internal controls as appropriate.
•Coordinates operational reviews and assessments of key LYNX processes to ensure that business controls are operating effectively to address key risks and ensure efficiency and effectiveness of processes, compliance with laws and regulations, meeting of financial objectives, and alignment of strategic goals. Makes recommendations to improve LYNX governance, risk and control processes.
•Ensures the accurate documentation of all financial transactions and the timely payment and receipt of all funds; assists in controlling organizational cash flow and supervises the drawdown of federal and other special account funds.
•Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of complex periodic and special financial reports, statements, and analyses for internal and external purposes; apprises the Director of Finance and senior management periodically of internal control measures, cash flow and expenditure trends; develops and conducts special financial requests and analyses in collaboration with other departments.
•Reviews and advises on warranty program support of the fleet defects and/or part specific negotiated replacement of inventory parts and capital items which equate to a financial impact in excess of $500K including material and vendor supplied labor.
•Responsible for creating strong and sustainable internal and external relationships and/or teamwork at all levels.
•Creates reports on departmental activities, making presentations to the Board as needed.
•Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations and LYNX rules and policies.
•Consults, performs special reviews, and advises senior management, staff, and the Board of Directors on risk, control, and compliance requirements, activities, improvement opportunities, and issues.
•Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in accounting, financial management or a related field plus eight years of progressive administrative and supervisor/management experience in financial management supplemented by three years of experience in a government setting; or a combination of related experience, education, and training.
Desired Qualifications
Master's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
•Knowledge of the principles and practices of governmental finance, fund accounting, andfederal and state grant regulations and guidelines.
•Knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards, procedures, and techniques used invarious governmental auditing circumstances.
•Knowledge of risk management procedures and frameworks.
•Knowledge of automated accounting systems.
•Knowledge of inventory management concepts and systems including economic order quantity (EOQ) and material requirements planning (MRP); knowledge of mathematicalformulae and system algorithms that constitute the controlling software for these concepts.
•Proficient in the use of a personal computer and associated software including applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
•Ability to select, coach, supervise, motivate, train, develop, and evaluate the performance of staff through demonstration of managerial and leadership competencies, including integrity, accountability, communication skills, and commitment to teamwork and excellence.
•Ability to draw logical conclusions and make viable recommendations from an analysis of complex accounting data and financial statements.
Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor. Ability to work in a diverse environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.
Work Environment and Special Considerations:
Works in an office environment. Will attend meetings during evenings and weekends as necessary. May need to travel locally and out of state. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and safe driving record. LYNX provides the community with much needed public transportation, and it is important for the Agency to resume its services as quickly and as safely as possible in the event of any natural, technological, or human-caused emergency or disaster. This position is considered a mission critical member of LYNX's emergency preparation and response efforts during an emergency or disaster and as such, may be asked to work during these emergencies or disasters.
