The Post-Doctoral Fellow serves as a member of the Counseling Services team and reports to the Assistant Director of Training and DEI. This position offers extensive professional experience providing direct services to a diverse population of graduate and undergraduate students utilizing inclusive and multicultural approaches to counseling, outreach, and supervision.
The Post-Doctoral Fellow will provide direct psychological services to Suffolk students, including initial assessments, individual counseling, group therapy, and crisis intervention. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will serve in the Counselor-on-Call rotation and participate in the response to campus mental health emergencies alongside licensed staff. Additionally, the Post-Doctoral Fellow will provide outreach and consultation to the entire campus community regarding student mental health and wellness. A specific focus for the Post-Doctoral Fellow will be to provide consultation to campus offices serving Suffolk students with marginalized identities, such as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, First Generation, and others.
CHW's Post-Doctoral Fellow will also participate in the provision of supervision and training to CHW's Practicum Training Program, serving Suffolk's Ph.D. students in clinical psychology. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will provide individual supervision and provide didactic trainings related to college mental health. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will participate in training team meetings and receive supervision regarding their provision of supervision and didactic training.
Successful candidates for this position will have completed an APA-accredited Doctoral Internship and/or at least 1 year of experience in college counseling. Experience and interest in providing outreach and consultation related to meeting the needs of diverse students is required. Successful candidates will bring a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as the application of social justice and antiracist concepts in clinical and higher education settings. Responsibilities
Participates in receipt of clinical supervision (3 hours), case consultation, didactic opportunities, and other training requirements.
Provides short-term psychological counseling services to diverse students in individual and group modalities; develops short-term treatment plans and urgent care behavioral risk assessments/consultations via Center walk-ins and after-hours on-call service; provides case management and off-campus referrals for students.
Serves in the center-wide, after-hours, on-call rotation system in conjunction with ProtoCall Services, a contracted professional mental health on-call service.
Develops and maintains relationships with various campus offices serving students with marginalized identities including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and/or First Generation students. Develops inclusive opportunities for outreach or clinical services in collaboration with campus partners. BillionToOne has recently launched two oncology liquid biopsy products: Northstar Select™ and Northstar Response™ for late-stage solid-tumor cancer patients. Northstar Select™ is a comprehensive pan-cancer somatic mutation profiling panel. Northstar Response™ is a methylation-based, tissue-agnostic treatment response monitoring assay.
As a member of the oncology clinical genomics team, you are responsible for helping with day-to-day commercial reporting operations, including variant interpretation and report drafting. Working closely with the medical team, you will develop interpretation and reporting policies based on the latest publications and guidelines, and help scale-up our ever growing reporting needs. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Clinical Genomics, Oncology in a remote-based position or at our Menlo Park location.

Somatic variant interpretation and data review: Perform somatic-based variant interpretation, diving into the literature and databases to classify variants and match treatments for reporting, performing verification as required with BAM file analysis.
Clinical report drafting: Carefully draft reports for each requisition primarily using in-house reporting API, working closely with the engineering and QA teams on reporting, and the laboratory directors on report language.
Somatic mutation interpretation and reporting policy development: Work closely with lab directors, R&D, medical, and other related functions to develop and modify the somatic interpretation SOPs in accordance with ACMG/AMP guidelines, and the latest published literature.
Content curation: Contribute to curation of gene-level content such as domain and critical residue curation.Molecular tumor board: Serve as a subject matter expert in consulting with the medical science liaison team, and presenting in molecular tumor boards to facilitate knowledge sharing.
Contribute to oncology R&D: Work closely with the R&D team to help with somatic oncology based projects, providing expertise on variant interpretation, biological pathways/mechanisms, and other gene/variant-level reviews and analyses.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Human Genetics, M.S. in Genetic Counseling, or related field
2+ years of experience in somatic variant interpretation based on ACMG/AMP guidelines in a clinical setting (alternatively, 1+ years of germline variant interpretation
and
1+ years of somatic variant interpretation experience)
Hands-on experience working with human mutation databases (COSMIC, ClinVar, OncoKB), functional annotation sources (db SNP), and genome browsers (UCSC)
Familiarity with IGV and BAM file analysis and data-minded willingness to learn to use basic bioinformatics tools, with technically minded insights
Knowledge of cancer somatic mutation and signaling pathways (e.g., which mutations have FDA approved drugs, Phase II/III clinical trials, which mutations are considered “hot targets” for drug development, etc.)

Qualifications:
PhD (or equivalent advanced degree) in a STEM discipline (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields).
Strong ability to explain complex processes in a structured, step-by-step manner.
Experience in research, teaching, or technical writing is a plus.
Enthusiasm for bridging academic expertise with AI development.

The opportunity
Perform research to advance the state of the art and solve specific problems at scale in one or more of the following areas: Natural Language Processing, Machine and Deep Learning.
Work closely with a diverse, interdisciplinary team to deliver value to customers (existing and new products).
Contribute to the research community via publications in top tier venues, participation in program committees, etc.
Excel in placing a human-centered focus on the work (context, end-user impact, etc), finding solutions that work in practice and have significant impact.
Productionize and ship research into Dataminr's products, and thus to its users worldwide.
Senior candidates are expected to lead technical areas and/or people.
What you bring

Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field
Experience in one or more of the following topics: AI for cyber security, LLMs, agentic AI, generation, machine translation, summarization, topic detection & tracking, text classification, knowledge extraction/representation/management, trending topic detection, search, machine learning and deep learning, etc.
Outstanding publication record (IEEE, AAAI, NeurIPS, ACL, TACL, EMNLP, WWW, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to work independently, set up experiments and demonstrate progress through principled use of metrics.
Proficiency in Python and experience with relevant AI/ML libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch and Hugging Face Transformers. Experience with LLM serving technologies such as vLLM is a plus.
Professional experience in industry (requirement varies depending on level; recent graduates must have had relevant internships).

The annual base salary range for this position is $148,240 - $218,000. You will also be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus and Company equity. Actual salary will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience.
