Summary: Shoals Technologies, a global renewable energy organization, is hiring a CAD Designer. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Integration and has responsibility for the generation of all 2D CAD files that represent the products, systems, subsystems or components under development. The CAD Designer will be responsible for the fit-up of products, systems and subsystems at the assembly level, as well as, developing and maintaining all engineering documentation relating to the bills of material. In a cross-functional team environment, they will collaborate with other CAD designers, product design engineers, technicians, project managers, product managers, manufacturing engineers, and external resources to manage concurrent responsibilities for multiple in-process projects. Responsibilities: * Work independently and self-manage time to meet deadlines * Work efficiently with a high degree of organization and accuracy * Follow all established department processes, formatting and design standards * Develop a working knowledge of basic PV Systems and major components * Establish and maintain knowledge of direct use components and processes * Review and compare customer drawings to Sales PO's * Report any discrepancies between final drawings and Sales Orders * Read, understand and interpret complex Customer supplied drawings and detail prints * Recognize potential design issues and collaborate with Supervisor for solutions * Manipulate geometry, manage formatting and layers in complex CAD drawings * Design layouts and custom products based on specific project's requirements * Create detailed customer facing drawing packages using AutoCAD 2D in Architectural format * Prepare and calculate detailed takeoffs for custom parts using Excel and CAD 2D * Perform self-reviews of created drawings and takeoffs * Take meticulous notes during design process to present to Supervisor upon review * Revise drawings and takeoffs as directed by customer or Supervisor * Provide feedback and suggestions regarding best practices to Supervisor for continuous improvement * Assist Team as needed to meet deadlines and create new efficiencies
