As a Designer, you will be responsible for creating 3D CAD models and piece part drawings using Inventor.
Key Responsibilities:
Be able to create complete solid models with pre-assigned part numbers; The designer will try to utilize existing parts but if they do not exist, a new part number will need to be created.
Pride with modeling accuracy and drawing detailing is critical. This includes proper mating, constraints, and modeling consistency.
Communicate realistic due dates for project completion.
Complete 3D model with all parts pre-assigned and fully detailed in case the project needs to be reassigned.
Prepare approval drawings in a standardized format for the customer's review.
Prepare piece part drawings of the entire assembly after project approval.
Prepare accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for the project both on the drawings and in EPR system.
Complete release sheets so projects can be released to the shop.
Correct errors when requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in Drafting or equivalent combination of experience and education.
5+ years drafting/design experience.
Previous experience with Inventor preferred.
Previous experience with Heat Exchangers preferred.
Strong understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing processes, and materials science.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
This job is based in a manufacturing environment with a combination of office and plant floor responsibilities. This role uses standard office equipment. When in the manufacturing facility, all employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include/hearing protection, and safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes.
Physical Demands:
While performing duties of this job, the employee in this position is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. This position requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop. The employee occasionally will lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Verify the validity of comments made by approver on drawings returned from submittal.
Verify checker comments, changes and corrections.
Assist the Drafting Supervisor in training new Drafters and improving the skills of junior drafters.
Develop DRFI's (Drafting Requests for Information) and assist the Project Manager with CCM's (Construction Coordination).
Maintain CAD file system.
Preparing clear and accurate erection drawings, section and connection details, hardware details and production drawings.
Revise drawings as noted on checked prints received from the Checker after verifying that changes are correct.

Strong mechanical drafting abilities, including part drawings, exploded views, and assembly drawings.
Familiarity with job shop and manufacturing drawings, including fabrication details, tolerances, materials, and hardware specifications.
Ability to interpret engineering calculations and translate them into clear, accurate drafting outputs.
Working knowledge of drafting standards, dimensioning practices, revision control, and documentation procedures.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy across multiple drawing types and project requirements.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineers, technicians, and production teams.
Ability to manage multiple drafting tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to work independently and take on project ownership.
