The candidate in this position will be working directly with WHI's custom shop and manufacturing departments creating computer-aided drawings, estimating the cost of custom wood products, and processing all necessary work orders. How You Will Make an Impact
Processing work orders for the custom shop. This includes calculating time and materials to create appropriate costs for wood products.
Estimating the cost of newly requested products. As well as, re-costing products previously produced. These prices may be sourced through various outside vendors, or using internal tools and processes by WHI.
Creation of C.A.D. Drawings for requested products. WHI uses sophisticated drafting software to produce detailed drawings of custom items that meet specified dimensions; as well as, aid in customer visualization.
Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have
Previous experience with computer-aided drafting (C.A.D.) is desired.
Basic math and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of doors, millwork, mouldings, and stair parts.

The Transit Design Manager is a key role that will be based in Chicago and report into the US West Region Transit/Rail Engineering Group
This person will have the opportunity to work on a diverse set of exciting transit projects nationally with the transit/rail group, taking on a project leadership role within our Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) design team.
The successful candidate may be asked to:
Serve as an AECOM team lead, project manager and/or discipline lead on planning studies, preliminary design studies, and final design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects, and will coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with others team members as well as support business development.
Oversee multidisciplinary teams as they:
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids for BRT infrastructure
Prepare and/or review multimodal street design
Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Use expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Prepare technical specification sections.
Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Coordinate tasks and provides leadership and mentorship to entry-level engineers.
Perform work in accordance with the agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Work independently and with other team members to complete all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* BA/BS + 10 years of related experience (in transportation design) or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
* Professional Engineering license (PE)
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years in engineering project management roles specific to Bus / Rail/ Transit project deliveries.
Proficient with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or Microstation/Power InRoads or Power GeoPak
Ability to prepare engineering design reports and construction drawings for highway, roadway, transit, and/or rail.
Ability to collaborate and coordinate with design teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians
Roadway design experience
Bus Rapid Transit and / or Light Rail Transit design experience
Familiarity with local design standards as well as national BRT/LRT standards and best practices

DESCRIPTION:
As an Electrical Designer at Frontier-Kemper, you will support the design, fabrication, and installation of power distribution and control equipment for our OEM, heavy civil construction, and mining divisions.
This position is responsible for designing electrical equipment for a variety of temporary mining and tunnel boring machine (TBM) construction sites, as well as control panel design for hoists, vertical belts, and skip loading systems. The Electrical Designer will play a key role within the engineering team, designing and specifying control and power distribution system components to ensure compliance with engineering best practices and performance standards.
Responsibilities:
Design control systems for electrically powered equipment, including hoists, vertical belts, and skip loading systems.
Design medium- and low-voltage site power distribution systems for mining and heavy civil construction projects.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in collaboration with a team of engineers.
Work with vendors to specify and procure standard (off-the-shelf) components.
Review designs to ensure fit, function, and engineering accuracy.
Ensure final designs meet customer requirements and internal standards.
Requirements:
Minimum 3+ years of experience in the electrical field.
Strong knowledge of low-voltage electrical equipment.
Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive.
Beneficial Skills: Autodesk Electrical or LT, Revit, Hoffman DTM, Microsoft Office Suite.
