Essential functions:
Acquire necessary knowledge involved in the successful accomplishment of his/her duties.
Support project engineers with the selection of standard OEM components, creation of fabrication and assembly drawings based off of accurate 3D models, maintain accurate product structures for new and existing products.
Prepare complete, accurate sets of drawings including BOMs, technical layouts, multiple views, detail drawings and assembly drawings, cross-sectional and subassembly drawings.
Create accurate 3D models, determine most appropriate views and prepare final drawings and supplementary information necessary to complete assignments.
Utilize mathematical formulas to compute weights, load capacities, dimensions, quantities of material, etc.
Interact with internal staff as well as vendors regarding technical issues pertaining to parts, design, usage, specifications, etc.
Learn ERP system to accurately take out part numbers and load BOMs for production.
Maintain an organized work flow so all required documentation is sent to other departments in an efficient manner.

Basic Requirements:
Education:
2-3 year degree/certificate in Mechanical Drafting/Design or equivalent is preferred.
Experience:
At least 3 years working with mechanical systems and equipment.
Minimum of 3 years industry experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD is required. Both software packages are used and the candidate must have a good working knowledge of each. Experience working with Autodesk Vault is also preferred.
Assets:
Experience with threaded and welded piping
Experience designing and documenting sheet metal parts
Experience with ASME pressure vessel design and documentation
