Job Summary The CAD Drafter / Designer position is a solid foundation for a career in architecture, process equipment/piping design, and facility design. The role adequately creates drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software both in 2D and 3D formats in designing mechanical, electrical, piping, plumbing, and equipment layouts for our design build food and beverage process facility projects. The role will require knowledge in areas architectural concepts, practices, regulations, standards, and building materials. Responsibilities include but not be limited to: Responsibilities Create design drawings with computer-aided design (CAD) software both in 2D and 3D formats, at the direction of engineers and more senior designers Coordinate with Designers, Architects, Engineers, and Project Managers to produce design drawings per project specifications. Design architectural drawings, mechanical/electrical/plumbing drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment layouts, and piping plans. Analyze available information to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete design drawings Ensure drawings comply with building regulations and architectural standards Prepare documents to a level consistent with set quality standards while maintaining project schedules Take responsibility for the development and coordination of small drawings sets. The department chairperson or designee will review applications only if vacancies become available. Instructors may be assigned to any campus or authorized facility. Assignments may include days, evenings, or weekends. Applications are valid through June 30, 2026, at which time they will expire. A new posting for this pool will be posted on July 1, 2026, and those still interested will need to reapply at that time.
