Daily responsibilities
Proactively gather context on product roadmaps across your scope, and prioritize the initiatives where you'll have the most impact.
Ship customer-facing UI content, content hierarchies, user flows, and information architectures. You'll do this independently in some cases, but mostly by pairing with cross-functional partners across product design, product management, and engineering.
Collaborate with design leaders to set UX direction at the feature and product level.
Partner with our platform teams to leverage and evolve our use of AI, both at the company level and on specific projects.
Support cross-functional teams in refining their own UI content and learning basic content design skills.
Qualifications
Breadth of impact: You should have demonstrated experience prioritizing your focus across a number of opportunities, and be able to articulate how you made prioritization and tradeโoff decisions.
Builder mindset: The person in this role will ship customerโfacing products, not just documentation and frameworks. You should have examples of features you played a key role in designing and shipping. Ideally you can demonstrate how you iterated on the content quality of these features over time.
High quality bar: This role will be a tireless advocate for our customers' experience with Gusto. You should be able to demonstrate how you've championed content quality across an organization, and improved teams' content skills and ways of working.
Comprehensive content toolkit: The person in this role will do more than UI writing. You should have a wellโrounded content design practice, ideally including aspects of information architecture, UX design (especially information hierarchies and user flows), and evaluative research. Compensation & Location
Our cash compensation range for this role is $172,000/yr to $215,000/yr in Denver & most remote locations, and $202,000/yr to $253,000/yr in San Francisco, Seattle & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

You will provide support to the mechanical project team in delivering design and engineering projects, working collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure model integrity and inter-discipline coordination. Responsibilities include managing electronic documentation such as drawing registers and issuing documents through online collaboration platforms. You will complete assigned BIM/CAD tasks within budget and deadlines as directed by senior staff and assist with field assignments when required, which may involve occasional travel.

The ComputationalDesigner possesses a high level of interest in data-driven approaches to design, including knowledge of Parametricism, Rationalization, Prototyping, Digital Fabrication, 3D printing, custom G-code (GH), Rhino + Grasshopper, BIM products, Visualization software, AR/VR, AI, and other related software and plugins used in the AEC industry. Works on design projects within the office and studio and is also integrated into the firmwide Design Technology Team. The day-to-day tasks will be dependent on the needs of the project team and deadlines in place.
As part of our Design Technology Team, the ComputationalDesigner works with the global ComputationalDesign Lead and other technology leaders to research and create automation and acceleration tools related to workflows and project delivery. ComputationalDesigners research initiatives and actively contribute to initiatives in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative Design as well as other emergent technologies on the horizon.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Partnering with members of the Design Teams and the Design Technology Team, this position:
Conceptualizes and develops design ideas, generates diagrams, digital models, presentation materials, and provides production work for numerous project types
Prepares design presentations to clients, communities, and other stakeholders
Contributes to the research, development, and implementation of our ComputationalDesign and AI technologies
Contributes to the development, communication, and training of model and data-driven design methodologies
Conducts research and develops projects related to computationaldesign and AI
Develops and promotes WATG's reputation for design technology expertise and quality project delivery, including participation in industry events and technical forums
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Interior Design, Engineering, ComputationalDesign, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience with Rhino and Grasshopper design environments, including customizations, development of definitions, algorithms, design workflows, standards, and best practices
Proficient in Python, C#, Java, Rhino and/or Revit APIs
Proficiency with AutoCAD required

In-depth understanding of algorithmic and parametric design principles and their implementation in practice

We are seeking a BIM Designer/CAD Drafter with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join our growing West Region Mechanical Team whose focus is on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) projects. This role will be based out of any of our Southern California offices.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and talented individual with REVIT and AutoCAD experience. Work will focus primarily on the development of 3D models and project deliverables consisting of 2D contract documents, utilizing both REVIT and AutoCAD, for Mechanical design.
Role accountabilities:
As an CAD Drafter/BIM Designer, you will be responsible for supporting the production of project BIM/CAD deliverables including REVIT models and drawings that are accurate, clear, and concise and compliant with Arcadis, industry and national standards and codes of practice and any other standards dictated by project/client requirements.
You will provide support to the mechanical project team in delivering design and engineering projects, working collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure model integrity and inter-discipline coordination. Responsibilities include managing electronic documentation such as drawing registers and issuing documents through online collaboration platforms. You will complete assigned BIM/CAD tasks within budget and deadlines as directed by senior staff and assist with field assignments when required, which may involve occasional travel.
Key Skills and Attributes:

Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction or consulting related to mechanical design projects.

* Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (2022 or newer)
