The Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires that NVIDIA provide the compensation range and benefits offered for this position if performed in Colorado. The base salary range for this position in Colorado is $126,000.00 - 173,250.00 USD.

The computer vision algorithm engineer will work with the team on researching and developing on-device computer vision and machine learning technologies across Samsung's products. You will balance research and product and contribute to creating innovative solutions with prototype and production-level reliability for AR/VR solutions. This role will have a greater focus on 3D CV tools and techniques.

Key Qualifications

  • A master's degree or higher (or equivalent industry experience) in computer vision, machine learning, or related fields.
  • Solid foundation in computer vision; key areas of interest include camera tracking, visual SLAM, multiple view geometry, 3D reconstruction, detection and recognition, 3D scene comprehension, camera calibration, camera transformation, etc.
  • Solid understanding of deep learning algorithms and experience with bringing machine learning technologies into research, product systems. This includes depth from image, object recognition, panoptic segmentation, etc. NeRF experience is a plus.
  • Experience with imaging sensors and depth sensors desirable.
  • Solid foundation in software development and related tools.
  • Proficiency in C, C++ programming language and at least one another prototyping language such as Python.
  • Strong teamwork, communication skills, passion, productivity, and self-learning ability.
  • Experience with graphics pipeline, GPGPU computing with OpenCL and Vulkan, OpenXR is a plus.
  • Experience with Unity is a plus.

The Computer Engineer performs a variety of engineering analysis, software, hardware, or network development, integration, testing, and maintenance tasks for purposes of integrating hardware and software products into environments or stand-alone networks. Positions identify and resolve moderately complex computer engineering problems; define, collect and implement computer engineering customer requirements for small to mid-scale, moderately complex projects; lead small product evaluations; and develop procedures for and perform moderately complex installation and configuration of hardware, software, or network products.
Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities
Leads small-sized product evaluations and assists in the planning of medium-sized product evaluations.

Coordinates with components throughout the Agency to ensure proper interpretation, integration, deployment, operational support, etc. Prepares and provides briefings on product capabilities and/or project status.

Defines, collects, and implements computer engineering customer requirements for small to mid-size, moderately complex projects. Assists in defining requirements for large-scale, complex projects.

Leads discussions with customers to gather requirements on projects (e.g. may work with customer to build test environments for developmental purposes).

Participates in technical discussions on large-scale, complex problems.

Designs and develops engineering solutions to meet customer requirements (e.g. writing, maintaining, testing, integrating, and implementing software, hardware, and associated documentation).

Provides alternative design options to meet customer requirements.

Identifies and resolves a full range of moderately complex computer engineering problems.
