    Computer numerical controller machinist job in Dayton, OH

    Resonant Sciences LLC has an opening for a hands-on CNC Machinist to join our Dayton, Ohio team. The position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced elite team whose primary mission is to support our Nation's War Fighters. The candidate for this position shall be a self-starter who can work independently, unsupervised, and with little guidance. The candidate will have an opportunity to be a member of a world-class team consisting of talented and dedicated engineers, technicians, and professionals who work together to interrupt and challenge the status quo to design and develop state-of-the-art technologies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: We are seeking a hands-on CNC Machinist who can independently set up and run CNC jobs using setup sheets and machining instructions. The selected CNC Machinist will have responsibility for and should have expertise in the following areas: Operate 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machines during off-shift or hybrid hours. Prove out NC programs and make necessary adjustments to speeds, feeds, and tool paths. Plan and execute machining tasks to meet schedule and quality requirements. Perform in-process inspections to verify dimensional compliance. Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting. Communicate status, issues, and improvements clearly across shifts. Assist with work instruction development when required. Perform other shop duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training strongly preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of CNC machining experience. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience with 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machine setup and operation. Working knowledge of G-code interpretation and modification. Proficient with precision inspection tools and methods. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T fundamentals. Organized, dependable, and adaptable to shifting priorities. Strong problem-solving and communication skills, especially across shifts. CITIZENSHIP/SECURITY CLEARANCE: U.S. Citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a Secret security clearance. Active clearance preferred. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Essential Duties and Tasks: CBN (cubic boron nitrate) plated wheel grinding radial. Follow all Hi-Tek policies and procedures, including the use of proper PPE. Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary. Maintain working knowledge of CNC principles, including G and M codes. Maintain working knowledge of rotary/linear axes. Selects, aligns, and secures fixtures, grinding wheels, and workpieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as required. Analyze, interpret CMM reports, and properly offset machine dimensions to meet customer specifications. Perform Deburr operations to within specified tolerances. Operate overhead crane when necessary. Report proper labor hours in the ERP system. Maintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties. Capable of running multiple machines, when assigned. Demonstrates the ability to lift 25 pounds occasionally. Any other duties as assigned to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization's values. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment. Always take ownership and be accountable for your actions. Good and reliable attendance and a positive attitude are a must. Physical Conditions: Lift, push and/or pull 35 pounds. Stand at least 95% of the scheduled shift. Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping in order to move and set tools, equipment and material. Perform under AS9100 standards. Qualifications, Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Duty related experience or/or including milling or lathe experience required - Min 1 yr.
