CNC Programmer Job Functions:
Determines methods, cutter types and cutting parameters depending on a variety of materials (TI, brass, steel, aluminum, etc.) and design specifications.
Designs 3-D computer models, drawings and specifications for fabrication of fixturing elements
Creates 3-5 axis tool paths utilizing Fusion360/Feature CAM.
Works with QC department on planning of manufacturing process to ensure quality and design objectives are achieved.
Creates shop documentation for setup of the machines.
Works with the machinists to make sure setup and machining procedures are followed
Reads and understands engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, and work orders
Use GD&T knowledge to read and understand blueprints and measure parts
Accurate use of precision measuring instruments (ie: micrometers, calipers, etc,) and working to tight tolerances
Use Lean Manufacturing knowledge, principles, and tools for continuous improvement
Visually inspect and deburr parts. Attention to detail and quality is required
Clean and maintain machines, equipment, tools and work area. Performs other duties as assigned.
Works in conjunction with QC in meeting customer and facility quality standards.
Behavior: Programmer must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. Programmer shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. College level or trade school education preferred. (8-10 years of experience may be substituted for education)
Proficient with Fusion360, Feature CAM (10+ years experience preferred)
Programming/set-up/operation of Haas CNC multi-axis milling and multi-axis turning machines.
Experience with 3-5 axis machine tools. Milling, live tooling lathes, mill-turns and/or multi task machines.
Self-motivated in keeping up with the latest tools & techniques
Knowledge of the application of Lean Manufacturing
Ability to troubleshoot issues and make adjustments during the manufacturing process.
Perform quality control both during and at completion of the manufacturing process.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. unassisted.
Good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to differentiate between colors.

The Lead Machinist is responsible for leading and guiding a team of machinists; reviewing technical drawings with the engineering team; addressing machining concerns; and ensuring that parts meet specified design requirements. · Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting tool selection, and material properties (foam, MDF, fiberglass).
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and CAD models.
· Understanding of G and M code; capable of making necessary edits at controller station.
· Experience with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) for quality verification.
· Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
