Position Description The CNC Machinist II would join a team of skilled professionals in our CNC Machining department, working on CNC lathe machines (Okuma), manual machines (Bridgeport and lathe), and on the bandsaw. Ongoing training is a key component of our continuous improvement mission. One must have the knowledge and ability to set-up machine, touch-off tools, edit G-code programs, and be able to read measuring instruments correctly as part of the daily duties. Being able to program new parts in G-code is a plus. We are looking for someone with good lathe experience but also the desire to learn vertical milling (Milltronics) when overloaded with work. The CNC Machinist would be working with other members of the manufacturing team on a regular basis (CNC machining, manual machining, bandsaw operations). Extensive ongoing training is a key component of our continuous improvement mission. Job Function: Performs required operations on Multi-Axis Mill and Lathe machines, including loading and unloading of parts, part inspection, tool holder preparation and insert changing; cleans and performs preventive maintenance and minor adjustments of assigned equipment; prepares various logs and records to document machine operation and daily production; enters required data into computer; moves/transports parts to appropriate location as needed; handles parts in a manner to prevent damage; maintains safe, clean and orderly work areas; receives, reviews, and /or refers to various records or reports including travelers, shift reports, SOPs, safety sheets, etc.; prepares labor sheets and non-conformance forms; interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals including the immediate supervisor, co-workers, engineering, and other shop personnel; operates height gage, micrometers, scooter gauges, various power tools, computers, etc.; performs related duties as required.
