Overview:
The CNC Machinist will need to be knowledgeable in programming and importing 3D models into software for the lathes and mills to create high quality specialty parts that will take our Automation Robotic Designs to the next level. This person needs to be highly skilled in working under great concentration and have a keen eye for precision pieces. All the while complying with safety compliance and accurately performing a variety of tasks and functions.
Pay: $23-$26/hr plus applicable shift differential ($1.00 for night shift)
What Will You Do?
Prepare and operation a 3-axis CNC mill, water jet and turning centers.
Import 3D models into programming software.
Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting vises, chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, stock pushers and indicating vises.
Generate a G-Code file from programming software and download to the CNC machine.
Prepare and load raw materials and parts safely into the desired CNC machine.
Stay current with engineering concepts, participate in training on new releases of software manufacturing techniques and quality concepts; train other individuals and departments as needed.
Inspect and measure all parts that are being created on the CNC machines for the desired result. Check and maintain CNC machinery daily to ensure functionality, including preventive maintenance and proper housekeeping.
Enter all CNC machine drawings, bills of material into machine manuals with the correct labeling as well as backed up in the correct locations on the network.
Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Responsible for leading production in the CNC Swiss area and communicating with leads on other shifts.
Responsible for managing daily priorities, assigning work to those in the department to maintain optimal flow. Prioritize work based upon product and resources.
Participate in daily production and GEMBA meetings to maintain constant communication of scheduled work.
Monitors CNC Swiss Machinist productivity to ensure correct machining processes are used and department activities are consistent with manufacturing objectives.
Plan and coordinate workflow with other departments and scheduling function.
Supports company policies working with direct reports and collaborates with the Leadership Team to resolve issues/concerns.
Interview and evaluate applicants for vacant positions.
At times you are expected to setup and operate a variety of CNC Swiss equipment to produce components using engineering drawings and specifications.
Leads process improvement, process development, and productivity improvement efforts.
Ensure employees are performing and documenting in-process quality control inspections and labor entries.
Responsible for managing and consistently maintaining a safe, clean, and organized department.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, due to contractual requirements
At least 5 years relevant experience in a Swiss machining environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 2-year previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Contract Manufacturing experience highly desirable
Proven ability to work in a fast past work environment.
Knowledge and understanding of ERP systems (Epicor a plus) and Microsoft office suite.
Ability to read blueprints, use micrometers, calipers, and other quality control inspection gauges
Ability to setup and operate CNC Swiss machine tools.
Ability to program CNC Swiss machine tools.
