Responsibilities
Primary Internal Support - Serve as the main internal resource for the Tooling Outside Sales team, providing timely assistance and information as needed.
Quoting & Order Entry - Prepare accurate quotes and process orders for tooling and other product lines as required.
Customer Service - Deliver knowledgeable, professional, and courteous service to customers. Duties may include entering orders into the system, verifying pricing and lead times, sending order confirmations, and providing updates on overdue or pending orders.
EOS Processing Support - Assist with EOS processing for quoted and ordered tooling items.
Phone & Sales Support - Handle overflow tooling calls and provide phone support for the Inside Sales team during vacations, meetings, and peak call times.
Interdepartmental Coordination - Work with the Accounting department to resolve cost and pricing discrepancies and assist with addressing open orders that require billing or closure.
Meetings & Supplier Interaction - Participate in Tooling Sales meetings and occasionally meet with suppliers to stay informed on product updates, new offerings, and other relevant information.
Additional Responsibilities - Perform other duties and tasks as assigned to support the overall function of the department.
Requirements
Knowledge of machining materials and processes generally gained through a 2-year technical degree or certificate in Machine Technology, or a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a machine shop environment, including working with tooling and accessories, setting up jobs, and running CNC machines.
Ability to interact professionally and tactfully with internal and external customers, as well as vendors.
Ability to educate customers and offer additional tooling solutions and alternatives.
Ability to organize and follow-up on multiple projects.
Ability to operate and enter information into a computer.

Summary of Position

* Perform offsets and tool changes to ensure efficient production with minimal support.
* Set up complex legacy components and new production orders for steady machine operation.
* Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using microscopes, micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, thread gauges, comparators, Micro-Hite, CMM, and vision systems.
* Perform scheduled and regular preventive maintenance on equipment.
* Drive problem-solving activities for complex machine or process issues.
* Complete and compile documentation related to quality inspection standards.
* Ensure proper material control, identification, and traceability for conforming and nonconforming materials.

Required Qualifications

Prototype CNC Machinist
1st Shift Monday - Friday
The Prototype CNC Machinist is responsible for engineering, manufacturing, and fabricating new parts, retrofitting and repairing parts per prints or samples, in order to create a product according to customer specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Engineer the appropriate machining process using experience, guidance from the project manager/department lead, and company established procedures and "best practices".
Program, set up and machine parts from billet and plate materials.
Establish design competency with Fusion 360 and/or PowerShape and programming competency with Fusion 360 and/or PowerMill.
Design & build machining fixtures via CAD for the secondary machining of castings or billet/raw stock materials as necessary.
Program machining parts (via CAM).
Set-up tooling and CNC machines for secondary machining operations on prototype castings and billet/raw stock material.
Run set-up parts through each operation and work with quality to gain buyoff at each phase.
Run the balance of parts on order through the machining operations.
Deburring, cleaning, and packaging of parts for shipment.
Teardown of tooling and fixtures and cleaning of the mills.
Assist in machining of production tooling components as necessary.
Other Job Duties:
Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and in a timely manner, consistent with the quoted hours and materials for the job. Communicate delivery updates and potential delays with the Project Manager including if a job will run over or cannot be completed within the time allotted.
