Key Responsibilities:
Determine appropriate cutting tools, fixturing, and machines for optimized machining approaches to complex, multi-axis milling production of rotating blades and stationary vanes components.
Complete the development and implementation of manufacturing CNC programs for complex machining processes for multi-axis milling machines.
Support in the development of Manufacturing Quality Control Plans / Part Inspection Plans.
Support shop machinists to successfully execute manufacturing processes and complex machining activities.
Assist and provide direction for design and development of fixturing for machining processes.
Design specialty cutting tools for precision form milling.
Collaborate with management, product engineering, peer engineers, and operators to realize high quality, stable processes for complex, conventional machining production of rotating blades and stationary vanes components.
Project leadership of development and qualification projects (scheduling, design of experiments, experimentation, reporting, documentation) with full responsibility for due dates, results and costs associated with your field of activities.
Review in process product quality control information (manual and CMM dimension checks) and work with production personnel to adjust production run machining processes.
Work with production personnel to implement, troubleshoot, and improve machining and associated processes.
Collaborate with Quality Engineer to conduct Root Cause Corrective Analyses.
Communicate with customers to understand requirements and communicate process deviations (NCRs).
Lead continuous process improvements (analysis, solution finding, implementation) around machining processes and methods. Perform and assess manufacturing data to determine opportunities for improvement and lead teams to successfully implement changes.
Support quoting efforts by providing cost estimates.
Review tooling inventory and adjust stocking levels based on production run usage.
Lead and support CAPEX projects and ROI calculations.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
2-4 year degree in related Engineering discipline.
5+ years relevant and proven 4- or 5-axis milling manufacturing experience.
Skilled in interpretation of product and manufacturing drawings and specifications.
Skilled in the use of Siemens NX & Teamcenter CAD/CAM systems and product data management systems.
Knowledgeable in 4- and 5-axis milling machining processes.
Knowledgeable in programming, online and offline, of conventional milling machines.
Expert Knowledge in parametric model definition tools of NX and assembly modeling with interpart linking.
Knowledge in designing component fixtures related to milling machining processes.
Skilled in interpretation of product and manufacturing drawings and GD&T specifications.
Working knowledge of MS office (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

How You'll Make an Impact

What You Bring

Essential Responsibilities

Set up and operating conventional or numerically controlled machine tools that require high skill to set up and operate.

Set up and operate B4C (boron carbide) machine equipment. Maintain, alter, adjust, make minor repairs to B4C equipment. Manufacture B4C capsules for Control Rods, including mixing powder, determining density and testing capsules for pull strength.
Starting up, loading, monitoring, unloading, and shutting down annealing furnace, autoclave, and nitriding furnaces.
Annealing, autoclaving, and nitriding parts to process equipment instructions and monitor furnace to ensure a quality part and proper equipment maintenance.
Test cleaning solutions for specific gravity, alkalinity concentration (titration) and adjust bath as required to bring them into specification.
Operate all types of lifting devices and cranes associated with manufacturing.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Must have at least three (3) years of manufacturing experience in set-up and operations of (CNC) computer numerically controlled machining processes OR a 2-year degree from an accredited machinist training program that includes CNC Machining.
Minimum two (2) years of experience with basic measuring instruments and gauges (scales, micrometers, dial indicators, and verniers) and have an understanding of Total Indicator Readings (TIR)/Full Indicator Movement (FIM).
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in operating machining equipment (saws, shears, drill presses, punch presses, centerless grinders, small lathes, mills, CNC machines, etc.).

Machine types include Bridgeport, Haas, Hardinge, and Takisawa lathes and mills. Having experience setting up and maintaining Swiss lathes and other multi turret, multi-spindle lathes would be a huge plus.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:
Interpret engineering drawings to understand tolerances of the parts to be machined.
Interpret setup documentation and tooling sheets to setup a variety of jobs.
Setup and operate CNC multi-turret and multi spindle lathes to meet parts per hour requirements.
Perform quality checks and make necessary adjustments to hold dimensions and tolerances.
Makes necessary offset and program adjustments or requests program updates from programmer in order to hold dimensions and tolerances to print specifications.
Takes proper care of all tools and equipment.
Performs daily preventative maintenance.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
3-5+ Years of experience in CNC machining.

Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance AMSE Y14.5.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Must perform all duties in conjunction with quality system requirements.
In depth understanding of manual & CNC equipment capability, part processing, and machining.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for utilizing shop paper procedures including updates, signatures, and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities
Ensure an accurate router accompanies all work orders

Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining. Alert Lead or Supervisor to any issue(s) on job or machine.

Manufacture parts with CNC machines using industry-standard CNC machining techniques and practices while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

Program new parts and modifications of existing parts using Mazatrol as needed.
Work independently or with other Machine Shop staff to determine work holding, tool holding, and tools required for jobs.

Qualifications
High school machining program and / or post-secondary technical school training with earned diploma, certificate, or degree in machining discipline is highly preferred.
1 year minimum experience operating CNC machines, preferably in a prototyping or low volume / high mix environment.
Mazak Mazatrol experience is a plus.
Able to independently setup, prove out and run CNC machines, edit EIA programs, assemble and set CNC tooling, and manufacture workholding fixtures.
Qualified and experienced with precision measuring instruments, both digital and analog.
Able to read and understand drawings and specifications with a working knowledge of the Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing system (GD&T)
Knowledge of work holding, tool holding, and tooling equipment used in CNC working environment.
Possess above average math skills.
Possess basic computer skills.
Able to lift 50 lbs.
