Weekend crew setup role in a high-end aerospace and defense job shop. This is real setup work on serious equipment, not a production button pushing environment.
You will be working on a mix of large CNC turning centers and vertical and horizontal machining centers including Mazak, Mori Seiki, OKK, Haas, Toyoda, You Ji, Hurco, and KOMO. Live tooling, probing, and 4th and 5th axis work are part of the world here.

Friday thru Sunday, 6am to 6pm
Work 3 days, keep 4 days free

Senior setup machinists who can prove out parts, troubleshoot, and own the process land at the top end
Top end is for proven senior setup machinists stepping into complex aerospace/defense work

Full CNC setups and machining on mills or lathes
Set tooling, fixtures, and offsets and prove out programs
Read prints, travelers, and GD&T and hold tight tolerances

Some jobs are repeat/proven programs, others require shop-floor prove-out and dialing in
Inspect first piece and in-process parts using precision tools
Troubleshoot setup and process issues independently

SUMMARY: To process various products on a variety of CNC equipment and/or cells.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Set up, adjust and operate a wide variety of numerically controlled machines and or cells, to perform rough and finish operations on a wide variety of casting, forgings and parts of copper, aluminum, steel graphite and other ferrous or non-ferrous metals and alloys. Work from programs, operational data and set up instructions. Manually perform deburring operations during cycle by hand sanding, belt sanding or operate single drill press and cleaning equipment to perform secondary operations. Use other hand tools, as necessary to maintain required quality. Will assist in training when needed. Other duties may be assigned.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The CNC Plasma Table Programmer ensures all materials are routed properly and that enough nested jobs are prepared to keep machines running.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)
Monitor and maintain inventory of drop materials to maximize utilization of materials to include reducing scrap generated during processing
Cycle count plate inventory and maximize utilization through nesting, ensuring strategic consumption of raw materials. Compare on hand material to SAP counts
Reads and interprets manufacturer drawings and creates CNC files for plasma cutting tables, plate rolls and brake press to produce parts for fabrication
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
Associates degree (A.A.), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred
0-2 years 1 year of experience drafting or CNC programming is required
0-2 years 1 year of experience with AUTOCAD 2D is required
0-2 years 1 year of experience with SAP is required
0-2 years 1 year of experience with .DXF, .DWG and various print file types is required

The Lathe Machinist will perform a variety of finish machining practices involved with turning, boring, drilling and threading while maintaining close tolerances on a wide variety of components from various industries. The ideal candidate needs to be fluent with Fanuc Controls. The candidate must be able to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, read and understand programs, all to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements. Must have basic hand & measuring tools, indicators, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required.
Ability and willingness to work in an environment of constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities.
Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required.
Ability and willingness to work around and use large propane / acetylene torches.

Position will be compensated on an hourly basis, with bi-weekly pay periods.
Able to understand, read, write, and speak English proficiently in order to communicate with shop supervision and safety directives.
Legal to work in the United States.
Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, physical performance evaluation and background check.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand and walk for significant portions of the shift.
Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs., walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance.
Must be able to use hands for assembly and tool usage.
Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.
Work Environment:
