Job Description We are looking for a Manual Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in operating and maintaining a variety of manual machining tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses. A successful candidate will be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings, as well as use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy. We are a custom design shop for operator assisted lifting devices, so there is plenty of variety in day-to-day activities. We need strong machining skills and are looking for a smart and motivated person interested in expanding their skillset. Responsibilities: Operate manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams. Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment. Set up and adjust machines to ensure accuracy and quality of work. Perform quality checks on finished products. Account for material inventory and order more when necessary. Possible operation of CNC equipment. Experience: Prior work experience as a machinist on a manual lathe and Bridgeport style machine. Able to hold tolerance of +/- .001. Self-motivated with a drive to complete tasks on time and learn new skills. Quality driven and safety focused. Exposure or experience with CNC equipment a plus. Physical Demands: Prolonged periods standing and performing tasks. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time. Ability to frequently walk, climb, kneel, bend, reach overhead, push, pull, and use a ladder or stool. Frequently exposed to heat, cold, and noise.
