Required Skills and Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to operate a variety of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales.
Minimum of two years of experience working on the set-up of 5-axis machines, such as Hass or Fanuc preferred.
Working knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used to operate various machines.
Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as blueprints, safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies, and procedures.
Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts.
Capable of recognizing and solving typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluates and selects solutions from established options.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Work from production schedule, work orders, samples, special instructions, specification manual, prints, and other verbal and written instructions. Use common hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, T-handle, rubber hammer, etc.
* Review prior shift production, machine operation reports and work schedule to determine own shift assignment as required. Coordinate and participate in activities with other departmental employees to maintain work flow. Check product quality to conform with Company specifications and ISO 9001:2008 standard.
* Investigate and resolve problems within limitations of assigned responsibilities. Avoid production delays and downtime. Advise Converting Department Manager, Production Scheduler, Quality Assurance, and other departments of related problems and/or machine maintenance needs.
* Maintain and update assigned records. Compile and prepare required reports. Assure that time and production information is properly recorded on required forms. Assure that work and staging areas are orderly and clean.
* Follow all prescribed or standard safety rules.

Continuously watch for problems troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, spot fires, and hot bearings.

Maintain a clean work area by clearing piles of sawdust around the mill room.
Perform ash tests on mix as well as the finished pellet and communicate these to the dryer op.
Perform visual volumes of the silo's volume and report that to the dryer op.

Operate CNC Lathes and Machining Centres plus some conventional machines as requested and ensure cycle times and outputs are achieved to the correct quality standard, Report failings.
Complete detailed quality checks against issued dimensional drawings using measuring equipment, verniers, micrometers and gauges etc and record measurements on the relevant check sheets.
Recognise, identify and report all quality defects and equipment failures.
Ensure all completed work is sent to the stores with any empty trays for that particular part, daily for booking in.
Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with any work instructions / procedures.
Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are completed as required.
Maintain good communications and relationships throughout the company.
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements.

What You Will Do:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Machinist to join our fourth shift in Engine Center (in Bridgeport, WV.). In this role you'll be a part of our dedicated team responsible for overhauling our engines.
The person in this role may be required to train on first shift up-to six months before moving into the intended shift (4th shift). 4th Shift is Friday-Sunday from 5am-5pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform rework operations such as reboring, honing and lapping, assemble sections and use micrometers, height gauges and a variety of fixed gauges to check mounting distances of gears, back lash, end play, fits, clearances and other specified requirements.
Use a variety of hand and bench tools to perform rework and modification operations such as drilling, reaming, cleaning, tapping, deburring, filing, polishing, buffing, and blending operations on various parts.
Operate a variety of machine tools, (grinders, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, EDM, etc.) to perform various machining and rework operation in aircraft engine parts.
Fabricate and grind simple jibs, fixtures, templates, reamers, plug gauges, fly cutters, adapters, pullers, bushings, etc.
