CNC Machine Operator will perform duties to set up and operate a number of different computerizednumericalcontrolled machine tools to perform a wide range of turning, drilling and tapping operations on various complex component parts of mechanical shaft seals in a work cell environment in a production mode. This position follows a Friday - Sunday schedule with 12- hour shifts from 6pm - 630am. Employees work 36 hours but are paid 40 hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Validate correct material is loaded per the work order traveler
Ensure part is load with correct grain direction
Secure part within the holding fixture
Ensure the programmed dimensions are loaded into the machine correctly
Monitor 1st part run at every operation and obtain first part buy off by inspection
Deburr parts as needed
Ability to complete necessary paperwork and clocking within ERP system
Requirements
Minimum Two years' experience operating 5 Axis CNC Machines
Must be able to do your own setups
Be able to read and understand design blueprints/drawings

Follow prints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and determines sequence of operations with supervision
Plan jobs and lay out dimensions on parts per prints
Set up and operate machinery to cut, shape, or form parts to specifications.
Ensures work pieces are lubricated and cooled correctly throughout machine operation
Ensures machines run in a safe and efficient manner by adding attachments, aligning pieces, securing fixtures, or replacing broken or dull parts
Uses hoists, crane, or personal strength to lift work pieces to machines
Measures finished pieces with precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure they meet order specifications
Provide a quality product to our internal and external customers
Ensure conformity and quality of finished work
Clean and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on machines, tooling and parts
Must work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries per our safety rules and regulations
Perform other duties as assigned
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED/PREFERRED
Able to use and understand all precision measuring instruments
Basic math, fractions, and decimals
Ability to read and understand blueprints, bills of material, setup sheets, etc.
Able to use a wide variety of hand tools.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED/PREFERRED
Prefer successful completion of related course work at a trade or technical school
OTHER REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
Ability to change assignments frequently.
Can work well independently and with others.
Observes safety and security procedures by using equipment and materials properly.
Is consistently at work and on time, ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
Takes responsibility for own actions.
Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals
Completes tasks on time.
