The City of Indianola is currently welcoming applications for the position of Water Resource Recovery Operator or Apprentice. The City of Indianola (pop. 16,069) is a growing community with a historic downtown, located approximately 15 minutes south of Des Moines. The successful candidate will have: High school diploma or GED; preferably additional courses in chemistry or wastewater Prefer one (1) year of experience as a skilled laborer in performing maintenance work. The apprentice is expected to secure an unrestricted Grade I and II Wastewater Operators Certification from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Grade I within 15 months of employment and Grade II within 40 months of employment. Possession of a current Class B CDL with Tanker and Air Brakes endorsement or able to obtain one within 6 months of hire date and maintain a license for the duration of employment.
