**Title:**

Drafter/CAD Operator III

Candidate will create/update Technical Data Packages and apply ASME, Technical Data Package, and/or military drawing standards, as needed. Candidate will be an integral part of the team creating/updating Technical Data Packages; being familiar with ASME standards, Technical Data Packages, and military drawing standards desired. Candidate will coordinate with the project manager and project technical lead for current assignments. Candidate will exercise independent judgment in selecting and interpreting drawing data based on knowledge of the design intent. Candidate may occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details.

Candidate will prepare complete sets of complex drawings or computer models that include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings. Assignments may require the use of mathematical formulas to compute weights, center of gravity, load capacities, dimensions, and quantities of material. Candidate will:

+ work from sketches, computer models, and verbal information supplied by an engineer, architect, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.

+ select required information from computer programs, and internet sites, precedents, manufacturer catalogs, and technical guides.

+ independently resolve most problems encountered, though technical personnel may suggest methods of approach or provide advice on unusually difficult problems.

+ prepare complete sets of drawings, including Level 3 drawings of test equipment to be manufactured from layouts, models, or sketches.

+ describe dimensions, tolerances, fits, fabrication techniques, and standard parts to use in manufacturing the equipment.

+ determines the arrangement and prepare drawings of printed circuit boards and other electronic components.

Education: High school education or equivalent (GED) and three (3) years related experience.

Required Experience: Experience in technical engineering drafting/illustrating in the electronics field. Experience with digital imaging techniques, CAD/CAM, and the maintenance and control of digital and hard copy documentation. Experience with DoD drafting processes and procedures.

The Computer Room Operator is responsible for verification of all cash tills and preparation of daily bank deposits.
Essential Job Functions:

* Verify cash tills
* Monitor Front-End for till accumulations and make timely pickups from cashiers.
* Ensure that the count rooms are locked at all times.
* Pick up cashier receipts and prepare bank deposits in accordance with check-up procedures.

The Drafter/CAD Operator-Journeyman
will support the Department of Energy (DOE) Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) Headquarters in Lakewood, CO and support our team providing technical services to the Office of Design and Engineering under this Technical Support Services contract.


SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY


This position will not have supervisory/management authority.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


BA/BS or MA/MS is highly desired. Associate degree or formal college level drafting course and equivalent work experience in a related engineering field Five (5) years of drafting experience. Three (3) of those years must be recent and full-time on AutoCAD.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


Must be expert in AutoCAD 2020 Civil 3D Must be familiar with AutoCAD 2020 and Raster Editor software. Must be proficient with multi discipline drafting including grading, civil and structural. Preferred knowledge of outdoor electrical, mechanical, architectural, high voltage transmission line sections and details, wiring diagrams and schematics Must be able to work independently. Must be able to work from sketches and verbal instructions from designer and engineer. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Utilizing and applying computer software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of design and drafting practices is required. Working knowledge of Quality Assurance principles is required. Working knowledge of federal and state codes/guidelines is preferred. Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations. Ability to pass a background check and drug screen


WORK ENVIRONMENT


This position is primarily performed in a secured federal office setting, a controlled office environment as well as working outside in a job site environment
