Our work depends on a Field Computer Specialist joining our IT Technology Development division within the NCIS ITD organization at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC.
The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of approximately 2,000 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities.
HOW OUR FIELD COMPUTER SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Provides technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration, and/or enhancement of company technical products, programs, and systems. On-site engineering technicians who utilize analytical and critical thinking to troubleshoot issues and problems with equipment or systems. Applies theories and write reports to outline issues and solutions.
Provide IT support throughout area of responsibility
Utilize ServiceNow for change management, ticketing system and asset inventory
Coordinate troubleshooting efforts for resolution of network outages
Perform Trusted Agent functions for SIPR Token program
Assist users in the region with VTC system deployment and maintenance
Support various admin duties, ex. Audits, inspections, create SOP, various data calls, training requirements, etc.
Support NMCI by gathering requirements, ordering equipment, and coordinating with the Contract Technical Representative (CTR).
Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets, configure equipment out-of-the-box, and support troubleshooting
Helps diagnose and resolve computer-related problems as requested by employees and contractors, either in person or by using remote control software
Responds to telephone calls and email requests for technical support
Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves problems with business applications and hardware on all enclaves
Performs general maintenance tasks and resolves fewer complex problems immediately, while more complex issues are communicated to a higher level of support
Accurately documents all work in appropriate problem-tracking software
Regular visits are from once a month to quarterly, based on IT projects or critical outages: Bethesda, MD; Patuxent River, MD; Dahlgren, VA + Quantico, VA
Outlying sites supported by the DCFO FCS: Hanover, MD + Annapolis, MD
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED (Required):
Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret clearance.

The likely salary range for this position is $80,750 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

• Modify CAD architectural/electrical plans to fit the needs of the customers' installation design plan. • Produces technical and scientific illustrations for presentations and/or publication, as appropriate to the requirements.

• Optimize usage of information technology that is acceptable/compatible across the Government consistent with the approved business processes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate the data quality of the Defense Medical Human Resource System - Internet (DMHRSi).
Individually manage the in-processing and out-processing of all MTF personnel at WRNMMC. On average about 50+ on a weekly basis.
Input, maintain, evaluate and compare pertinent DMHRSi and personnel data and information on a weekly basis.
Document errors and missing information, research and obtain missing data, clarify discrepancies and inconsistencies and compile reports totaling 25+ on a monthly basis.
Review data processes documentation on a regular basis for accuracy and efficiency.
Continuously verify the Officer Distribution Control Report (ODCR), Enlisted Distribution Verification
Report (EDVR), Officer Slates, borrowed military, GME/GDE, Army, HRO civilian crosswalk, Limited
Duty/ Med Hold/ Med Board, contractors, volunteers, and Reserve/ Augmentation/Mobilization personnel for NNMC and Branch Clinics. These are the different manning documents that provide input to the accuracy of DMHRSi, i.e. personnel tracking. They must be verified monthly at a minimum. They are not distributed from DMHRSi, they are supplied to us to verify against and DMHRSi information is then distributed.
Evaluate and monitor monthly reports to discover, report, and rectify discrepancies. Monthly reports are received all throughout the month. There is a 30 day turn around for all reports to be validated and pushed back out. The reports rotate around a 20 day calendar.
Has knowledge of management principles, organizational theory, and techniques of statistical analysis and evaluation, along with knowledge of standardized administrative practices and procedures.
Continually gather and correlate large amounts of narrative and statistical information. Uses the information to scrub and validate DMHRSi to provide command with best available clean data.
Organize, analyze, interpret, and present statistical information to Management via weekly team meetings throughout the month.
Perform statistical analysis, research, interpret, analyze and prepare written and oral correspondence proposals and presentations to support effective program mission accomplishments and Human Resource utilization. 4-6 a year, or at least quarterly.
Report, advise and provide program related information to the DMHRSi Coordinator on strategic planning, policy, and program operation and performance accountability for the development and administration of the DMHRSi program. 4-10 times a year. With each specialized project presented to DMHRSi from the CoC.
