Applied Materials' Ion Implantation Business Unit is searching for an intern to join our team in summer 2026! Our group works on developing plasma processing tools in ion implantation, dry etch, deposition and material modification. The position will entail the following:
* Perform numerical investigations of elements of semiconductor processing tools using commercial and in-house software.
* Analyze obtained results, draw scientific conclusions, and present at internal meetings.
* Lead small design projects involving beamline and plasma source optimization.
Requirements
* Student must be pursuing a M.S. or Ph.D. program in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
* Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Support course preparation through activities, includes Canvas shell preparation
Assist with grading student assignments (Faculty are responsible for final grading of student work)
Provide written and verbal feedback on student assignments or activities

Your impact
Teaching Assistants (TAs) play a critical role in supporting ~25-30 Learners (as part of a larger class) in Correlation One's virtual training programs. During that time, TAs will be expected to provide both synchronous and asynchronous support to Learners, ensuring their learning, comprehension, and retention of program content.
We are currently adding Teaching Assistants: Cloud Support Specialist to our Expert Network, in anticipation of projects that will launch this year and next year. This is a proactive hiring effort, where you will participate in our interview process and be added to our Expert Network. Once approved for our Expert Network, our team will be able to share various opportunities for you to support projects, programs, and our learners.

A day in the life
Expectations during live (synchronous) sessions:
Attend and proactively engage in the mandatory Pre-Program TA Onboarding. Dates and times will be announced.
Monitor appropriate Slack channels (#c1-TA, #live-chat, #extra-help, and other relevant channels) for Learner questions and answer them promptly.
Check-in with Learners after each live session by asking how they're feeling about the content, if they have any questions, or if there is anything that they need further clarity.
Facilitate breakout rooms during lecture time, when applicable.
Assist in keeping the session progressing should the Lead Instructor experience technical difficulty or is otherwise unable to deliver the lecture.
Expectations during days of no live sessions:
Monitor appropriate Slack channels for Learner questions and answer them within 24 hours.
Foster discussion by posing questions of your own and sharing relevant links in the #resources channel or in other appropriate Slack channels.
Use the #c1-TA channel to share any important information during a lecture that needs the attention of Correlation One staff or fellow Expert Network staff.
Review content materials (including lab, projects, extended cases, etc..) for the next lecture to ensure you are prepared to answer Learner questions.
Hold up to six (6) Individual Office Hours via Zoom with Learners in the program so they can ask any additional questions or get support as necessary.
Grade Learner submissions of exercises and projects within seven (7) days of submission.
Support continuous program improvement by providing thoughtful feedback to Correlation One team via Weekly Write Ups.
Submit weekly write-ups summarizing the week's accomplishments and challenges and provide insights on each Learner. This is due by Sunday at 8:00pm ET each week.
Attend and participate in the weekly staff meeting with Correlation One team and other Expert Network staff.
Attend all scheduled meetings with your camera on, ensuring active engagement and professional presence.
Your expertise
3-5 years of professional work experience in Cloud Support, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering, Networking, DevOps, etc.
A desire to support students in expanding their careers in technical roles
Empathy, flexibility, patience; passion for working with diverse learners who are new to content
Outstanding team and people management skills; exemplary written and verbal communication skills
Ability and willingness to understand and use new learning and content management systems
Certification in AWS Cloud Practitioner, Comp TIA Network+, and Comp TIA Linux+

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Define and drive the AI strategy that drives TIFIN's innovation and growth
Zero-to-one product development: rapidly prototype, evaluate, integrate, and test new product features in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
Develop and integrate agentic workflow systems that empower AI agents to operate autonomously, enabling proactive decision-making and dynamic interactions.
Lead, mentor and grow a high-performing team of AI engineers, including hiring as the team scales
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
10+ years of experience (post-MS/Ph.D) in applied AI engineering, including 5+ years in technical leadership and/or team management
Experience shipping generative AI products powered by LLMs: designing and implementing agentic workflows that enable autonomous AI behaviors, leveraging the latest state-of-the-art research
Resilience and adaptability - experience working at early-stage startups is a plus
COMPENSATION RANGE
$200,000 - $250,000 USD
