Other types of communication may also be required including turnover of a written status report and/ or phone mail status messages as required. Handle IT Hotline issues in a professional and courteous manner by properly answering phones, documenting hotline calls in shift report as appropriate. Perform routine building equipment and security monitoring to ensure that the building is secure and all critical facility systems are working including air conditioning, heating, chillers, security systems and power. Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures for building and equipment. Complete system checklists under minimal supervision and according to detailed schedule by monitoring consoles to ensure the systems are running in accordance with applicable procedures. Resolve outstanding requests in a timely manner. Keep the immediate supervisor informed of out of date documentation. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Associate or Bachelor's Degree in computer related discipline is preferred or combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions. Minimum of one (1) year without a degree or no experience with a degree. Require excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of Windows Operating system. Basic knowledge of UNIX / Linux Operating systems. Understanding of Help Desk operations is a plus and wiliness to learn tape management, print distribution and console monitoring are plus. Ability to work weekends, holidays and various shifts as needed to meet staffing requirements. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not directly supervise employees. What You'll Get to Do:

+ Being a part of the IMSD helpdesk, you will actively troubleshoot IT tickets through the ticketing system and call center.

+ Apart from handling tickets, you will assist with asset management by assisting with the upkeep of the laptops and printers provided to the user.

Responsibilities

OBXtek is currently staffing for a Journeyman Computer Systems Analyst to work remotely supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Champaign, Illinois.

The tasks for this position are to include, but not be limited, to the following:

  • Answering queries and resolving first and second level technical issues for local and remote users through various channels such as telephone, chat, email, and tickets submitted online.
  • Adheres to all company and department policies and procedures.
  • Responds to escalated tickets from tier 1 staff, diagnosing, identifying, isolating, and resolving problems with hardware, software, network, and system/applications utilizing technical skills, historical database records, and knowledgebase documentation.
  • Reviewing reports throughout the day for tickets that are due to breach the SLA metrics.
  • Ensuring that technicians and engineers are working their tickets in a timely matter.
  • Reviewing aged and breached tickets to ensure a resolution is found.
  • Utilizing other daily report to track daily tickets that have been neglected.
  • Monitoring and following up with VIP tickets to ensure tickets are routed to the correct team.
  • Supports commercial (COTS) software, customer specific applications, internet browsers, desktops, laptops, mobile devices and more.
  • May route tickets to product line, application, or system support specialists, requiring clearly documented description of situation and any troubleshooting already performed.
  • Monitors phone and chat queues, email inbox, and the status of service desk tickets to ensure they are completed in a timely manner, and alerts management to recurring problems and patterns of problems.
  • Provides guidance and coaching to less experienced technicians and may have limited leadership responsibilities.
  • Contributes to knowledge base, represents service desk when interacting with other support teams, and may participate in special projects as required.

This is a shift work position within government business hours.

Qualifications

Active SECRET Clearance

EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATION:

  • AA Degree (2+ yrs helpdesk experience may be substituted for Associates degree)
  • Minimum 5 years of related technical support experience in a call center environment
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level I (IAT Level II Preferred)

IAT Level I: A+ CE, Network+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, SSCP

IAT Level II: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP

SKILLS:

  • Proven experience providing effective and professional communication, addressing complex technical issues via telephone, email, and chat
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to work well with and provide leadership to teammates in a fast-paced SLA driven environment
