Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) Maritime Undersea organization is seeking a Senior Computing System Architect - Maritime Undersea to join the Mission Systems Operations Team located in Herndon, VA.

As a member of this team, you are an integral part in developing custom hardware and software solutions for proprietary programs for our client. This position is also handles other IT related tasks such as: troubleshooting customer issues, coordinating with our senior engineers and helpdesk as necessary, training users, and attending interagency working group meetings.

We translate customer needs into detailed requirements for system integrated designs including system architectures for current operations and program growth, facility design, hardware selection, software selection and development, system integration, testing, and operations and maintenance (O&M).

* Develop and manage multiple, complex project plans and deliverables and lead activities to determine project scope

* Provide input to set complex project scope, schedule, and budget baselines based on an understanding of the system development lifecycle (SDLC)

* Responsible for systems design, engineering, technical reviews and evaluations, customer engagement, project estimating, project financial lifecycle management, and the systems integration
* Work on changes and improvements to project baselines
* Conduct technical reviews
* Manage the incorporation of quality management systems for IT projects
* Monitor project deliverables to ensure compliance with quality standards
* Identify and acquire necessary resources to meet project goals
* Develop and implement project communication plans
* Lead activities to identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
* Identify need for vendor-provided products and services.
* Coordinate and lead all aspects of supplier activities

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

* Ability to obtain a Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) post-start.
* 3+ years of technical project management experience.
* Confidence in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, and the ability to multi-task and manage expectations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

* Experience with integrated network design, deploy and operational support
* Experience using Microsoft Project (MS Project) and Jira.
* Experience with Windows, Linux, and VMware.
* Experienced and knowledgeable in System Engineering and Program Management best practices.

Typical Education & Experience:

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
