Qualifications for the role
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.
8 years of experience in Operations Management, with a strong focus on process optimization, project execution, and quality assurance.

Data-driven mindset, using data management tools to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

Position Overview
The Sr. Machine Learning Engineer, with minimal guidance from more experienced engineers, works independently and in collaboration with others on multiple projects which are complex in scope. This role applies deep knowledge of advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms and models to solve problems involving biological, genomic, clinical and healthcare data within a setting of advanced cancer screening and precision oncology. This role is involved at every step of the solution development process, from ideation, design, implementation and deployment. Maintain deep expertise in one or more AI technology areas. Clearly present and communicate relevance of technological advances as relevant to our work in biostatistics, bioinformatics and data science at Exact Sciences.
Develop perspectives on "AI technology affordance": what do these advances in AI technology allow us to do (more efficiently and / or more effectively) that we couldn't do before.
Work with stakeholders to discover and refine requirements for ML- and AI-based solutions to business problems with a focus on bioinformatics, biostatistics and data engineering applications.

Support three electroplating lines and an onsite chemical physical wastewater treatment system with a safety-first mindset.
Perform routine plating line including documentation of critical parameters (e.g., pH, temperature)
Complete chemical adds to process tanks per instruction
Support equipment upkeep
Execute scheduled SROs on plating and waste treatment equipment (pumps, filters, transfer lines, chemical feed systems, tanks, meters/probes).
Conduct basic troubleshooting of plating tanks and supporting equipment (e.g., low flow, poor filtration, out-of-range parameters, alarm response)
Support operation of the waste treatment system by monitoring system performance with control points (pH adjustment, cyanide destruction, metal hydroxide precipitation, and flocculation), perform chemical feed adjustments, and maintain accurate logs.

Position Responsibilities:
Monitor a diverse array of production systems and equipment to identify any issues.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Complete routine preventative maintenance thoroughly and on time.
Troubleshoot and program PLCs.
Troubleshoot and repair HMI systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment issues.
Understand and follow all Safety procedures such as lockout-tagout and wearing proper PPE.
Understand and practice Quality System requirements and documentation (i.e., applicable inspection, verification, and disposition procedures, and/or instructions and forms required as part of the process).
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Associate technical degree or vocational training in industrial field or similar, and 5 years of manufacturing experience is preferred
OR a minimum of 7 years combined training and experience
In-depth understanding of Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC software
Expertise in troubleshooting ladder logic, making edits, and performing at least some programming
Knowledge in industrial communication pathways such as ethernet/IP or Profibus
Ability to read electrical schematics and efficiently use a multi meter
Understanding of electrical systems such as 480-volt and 24-volt circuits
Solid experience with fluid pumps and AC/DC motors
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working on gears, gearboxes, chains, bearings etc.
Understanding of pneumatic systems such as solenoids, cylinders, and diaphragm pumps
Displays initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Job Responsibilities:

Competency in basic metrology equipment and measuring tools such as calipers, comparators, micrometers, etc.
Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Adept in analyzing data such as normal distribution charts, trend charts, control charts, etc.
Expertise in analysis and problem solving
Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
Efficient in organization and planning
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Quality, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering with 1 year of Quality Engineering experience; or 5 years of equivalent Quality Engineering experience or similarly related function
