The IT / Network Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and ongoing support of IT and networking infrastructure supporting a 24/7 Renewable Energy Remote Operations Center (ROC). This role ensures secure, reliable connectivity for internal ROC operations and remote renewable energy facilities (solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems), while maintaining compliance with applicable NERC CIP cybersecurity requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design, configure, and maintain secure private and public network environments
Manage IP addressing, DNS, routing, NAT, and network segmentation
Configure and support secure VPN tunnels for internal staff, vendors, and customers
Administer and support Cisco network switches
Configure, maintain, and monitor Palo Alto firewalls, including GlobalProtect VPN
Implement cybersecurity controls aligned with NERC CIP requirements
Support secure remote access to operational systems
Configure and maintain virtual server environments
Administer Windows Server and Linux server systems
Provide IT support for ROC internal networking and ISP connectivity
Support telecom and phone systems, including call recording
Assist customers with secure access to remote renewable energy sites
Support performance monitoring and data analytics systems
Support and help drive ROC Operator efficiency initiatives, focusing on improving the tools, systems, and workflows used in a 24/7 operating environment
Under ROC leadership guidance, work with operators to evaluate, implement, and optimize software tools (monitoring platforms, ticketing systems, dashboards, reporting tools, remote access solutions) to reduce manual effort and improve response times
Identify and help implement process improvements and system integrations, including automation, alerting, and data visibility enhancements, to improve operator effectiveness and consistency across shifts.
Required Qualifications
3-5 years of IT networking and systems administration experience
Strong knowledge of IP networking, DNS, routing, and VPNs
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and GlobalProtect
Experience with Cisco switches
Experience with virtual server environments
Windows Server and Linux administration experience
Familiarity with NERC CIP cybersecurity requirements
Experience supporting 24/7 operational environments
Strong communications skills
Preferred Qualifications
Renewable energy or utility industry experience
