General Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain all stand functions and servicing guests in a friendly, courteous and helpful way.

Specific Duties: (Other duties may be assigned) 75% During Event
Provide high quality service to guests by offering them food and beverage items for sale in the assigned stand. Ensure cleanliness of counters and condiment areas. Refill ice bins when needed. Contact commissary for re-stocking, if necessary. Maintain all warmed and cooked food. Help prepare items to keep up with sales. Act as cashier –take in cash, give change without mistakes. Accurately complete cash deposit slip for appropriate POS terminal. 10% Post-Event Assist in cleaning the stand to meet with Company sanitation standards. Ensure that only guests of legal age are served alcoholic beverages. Check for ID. 10% Pre-Event 5% Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

a) Language Skills:
Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or team members of the organization. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
b) Math Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
c) Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

This position is for concessions workers and or concession cashier at the *XL CENTER in Hartfod, CT*. The Concession Worker is responsible for greeting guests in a pleasant manner while filling food and beverage orders. The Concession Worker will operate the Point of Sale system/cash register and collect money for purchased food and beverage items.

The Concession Worker must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need. *Event schedule includes and mostly consists of Nights and Weekend shifts.*
*Essential Job Functions: *
* Responsible for greeting guests and taking orders for food and beverage products.
* Responsible for preparing simple foods and beverages utilizing the company recipes and portion standards. Maintain the highest quality standards and portion consistency.
* Responsible for accepting payment from guests and making change as necessary.
* Responsible for keeping the work area and surroundings clean using sanitation standards.
* Responsible for memorizing the product menu available at each concession location.
* Assist in clean up and break down of the concession area at the end of the event.
* Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
* Additional duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or Ovations management staff for the successful outcome of an event or customer service situation.

* Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
* Ability to speak, read and write in English.

* Possess valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal regulations.
* Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.
* Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.

*Education, Qualifications and Experience: *

Experience in basic food handling, sanitation and customer service preferred.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $12.00 - $13.00 / hour

What you'll be doing as an Concession Worker:

* Greet customers and take orders for food and beverages, as instructed by supervisor

* Take pride in the details of customer service

* Receive payment by cash, check, credit or debit cards, vouchers, then issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due

* Cook or prepare food items, such as sandwiches, salads, and ice cream dishes, using standard formulas or following directions

* Assist with concession stand setup and clean up based on requests from supervisor

* Associate will help with operating concession stands for sporting events and concerts. Weekend and Evening work is common.
