Front Desk Receptionist Job, Remote or Summerville, GA
The receptionist is primarily responsible for all activities related to meeting and greeting the public, whether patients or visitors, appointment-making and patient scheduling according to established policies and procedures, collecting payments, telephone messages, the appearance of the front office and waiting room, and for providing courteous, customer service in the front office. This person is responsible for running and balancing a day sheet on a daily basis required by management. This person coordinates and expands the center’s capability to provide un-insured patients with information pertaining to the medicine assistance program. The receptionist is a member of the Front Office Team and will rotate through evening and other clinics on a regular basis. As a member of the Front Office Team, this person will cross train in the other Front Office positions and achieve full competency in all positions. The receptionist will perform these duties on a rotation basis as well as fill in when absences occur. This position may have remote work requirements. This position is subject to all current CMS vaccine mandates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Presents a warm, friendly, efficient, client-centered attitude to all patients and visitors at Primary Health Care Centers- Responsible for creating and maintaining a positive first impression of Primary Health Care Centers, its services, staff and facilities.- Maintains a neat, orderly, and clean front office, waiting room, and reception area.- Promptly greets and acknowledges visitors, patients and telephone callers.- Routes calls to appropriate person or department.- Obtains necessary information, e.g., registration, history, surveys, etc.- Collects payment from patient at time of service and/or prior balance - Conducts interviews with prospective sliding scale patients. Secures and files relative documentation for same.- Runs daily report and balance day sheet - Prepares daily cash deposits- Confirms insurance and demographic information.- Creates or updates patient computer file.- Mark patient arrived in EMR when patient has completed check-in procedure - Ensure that patients are called in order.- Handles patient minor billing questions- Advises patients if there will be a delay and wait is unavoidable. Offers to re-schedule appointment.- Schedules/reschedules appointments according to established policies and procedures. Informs all patients that are scheduling of our narcotic prescription policy. Informs patients scheduling (sliding scale) if their sliding scale information will need to be updated.- Participates in all required Primary Health Care Centers, OSHA and Emergency Preparedness training.- Adheres to all HIPAA Rules and Regulations- Participates in helping the provider meet all meaningful use criteria- Participates and helps maintain a Patient Centered medical Home environment - Provide patient with medicine assistance application and assist patient with instructions for completion of form- Gather returned medicine assistance application for the week and then route to provider for signature- After forms are completed, signed and returned application is scanned into EMR and then patient is notified to pick up completed application- Open, gather, and enter each shipment of medication into the appropriated place of documentation system. After all medication(s) entered into the system, create an encounter and call patient for pick up. Store medication in secure place until patient picks up. - Gather medication for patient at time of pick up and ask patient to sign for each medication. Scan pick up medication sheet into patient file, document and close encounter of patient picking up medication(s) - Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma required. Additional college or business training preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the general public.
Strong mathematical skills required.
Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license,
Ability to operate a computer, Type 40 wpm, understand and utilize various software programs.
