The Environmental Service Technician cleans and disinfects patient areas, treatment areas, restrooms, and public space in line with the departmental standards to meet the customer service needs of the hospital. Working under close supervision, this role works to prevent illness by abiding by the environmental and infection prevention standards of external regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
Documents performed cleaning tasks on the appropriate forms to record items accurately in paperwork.
Communicates effectively with the supervisor to keep them informed of current responsibilities and resolve any complex or urgent issues.
Assists in monitoring supply levels in order to balance departmental supply needs and budgetary goals.
Helps maintain the cleanliness and functioning of equipment and storage areas to ensure department operations run efficiently.
Treats and removes carpet stains as needed without prompting in order to maintain a clean appearance for guests and patients.
Assists in the selection and use of cleaning agents and equipment to safeguard against damage and clean effectively to reduce the risk of illness.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Prepares equipment properly for decontamination by cold sterilization, steam autoclaving, ethylene oxide processing to include packaging and addition of indicators and date. Checks the proper function of PEEP valves, manual ventilation bags etc, after disinfecting process. Ensures the cleanliness of the cleaning equipment storage areas to include monthly washing of the walls, floors dryer filter changes etc, in the decontamination room. Ensures that the proper equipment is packaged in equipment kits such as ventilation kits.
4. Performs preventive maintenance checks on all adult and infant ventilators on a monthly basis as available. Ensures that no ventilator goes greater than 3 months without checking. Updates PM records as service is performed. Documents and reports any hazardous or malfunctioning equipment to supervisory staff. Repairs miscellaneous equipment as needed.

The Procedural Technologist performs a variety of technical, diagnostic, therapeutic and patient care tasks for patients with cardiovascular disease using radiological and cardiovascular sciences. The Technologist assists credentialed care providers in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures in a range of settings including the Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology Lab, and Vascular Lab.
Responsibilities And Scope
* Assists physicians with obtaining digital radiographic images of heart, peripheral vessels and any other required structures.
* Ensures room is prepared and stocked for the upcoming procedure. Sets up and prepares suite for upcoming procedures, including sterile trays, catheters, wires, contrast and other supplies needed as guided by the physician. Assists with routine inventory management tasks.
* Verifies patient identification. Interviews patients to collect and document prior medical history.
* Guides patients, some distressed, through their examination, applying subject matter expertise and cultural competency to explain the exam. Sets expectations and calms patient for effective imaging.
* Selects appropriate scanning protocols and imaging parameters using extensive knowledge of human anatomy and pathology.
* Inputs and organizes patient information and diagnostic images in both primary electronic medical recordkeeping (EMR) system and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
* Performs daily quality checks for procedural areas. Practices and ensures radiation safety per documented protocol. Promotes a safe, clean and secure hospital environment for all, including the application of standard precautions and principles of infection control.
Qualifications
Hired candidates are expected to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification after hire. Training and assessment opportunities will be provided.
Required
* Completion of an accredited educational program in health science, including but not limited to: cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, nursing or paramedic/EMT.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred
* Successful completion of EKG / Arrhythmia course.
* Experience working with a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) such as SYNAPSE or SECTRA
* Experience working with electronic medical recordkeeping (EMR) system such as EPIC.
