This Vocational Trainer requires the ability to work closely with one individual on a daily basis in both the Adult Training Facility and Residential environments. The work involves providing the individual with direct supervision and assistance with their vocational duties. Must be able to facilitate life skills training and social behaviors during the individual's daily routine. This is an hourly, non-exempt position. Schedule Available: Monday thru Friday 6 am to 2:30 pm Contributions: Working in collaboration with the team to develop training programs and strategies to teach new life skills in the areas of safety skills and safe transition methods, pre-vocational skills, self-help, self-management and leisure. Redirecting and assisting Individual with daily vocational duties and responsibilities; ensuring all jobs for this Individual are engaging and accounted for. Implementing and documenting progress in all training areas using individualized methods on a daily basis. Implementing goals and procedural objectives based on programs developed. Working with the team to develop appropriate daily routines, safety routines strategies, and judicious positive reinforcement of adaptive behaviors. Working with the team and Psychology (if needed) to develop, implement and develop individualized programs to decrease identified challenging symptoms and behaviors. Providing information to Psychiatry (if needed) to assist in the management of Psychiatric interventions. Escorting and providing information during scheduled Psychiatric appointments (as applicable). Providing and maintaining communication with the QIDP, PSS, and House Manager to ensure consistent support and appropriate programming for the individual. Assisting with educating peers to work with Individual during “off” times. Attending in-service training sessions. Functioning at all times as the Individual's advocate. Attending and working with Individual when scheduled for IPP meetings, EA/ET or AA. Accompanying Individual with off-campus trips and doctor's appointments. Performing other duties as required. Essential Functions: Complete comprehensive psychosocial assessments with potential consumers and families to determine program eligibility (both programs) and placement needs (Dom Care only). Develops and maintains an individualized service plan (ISP) required for consumer, and oversees that services are being utilized. Conducts follow-up visits at prescribed intervals, maintaining regular contact with consumer and provider to ensure mutual satisfaction within program guidelines. Provides assistance and counseling to consumers, providers and families ensuring service delivery and social and emotional support and identifying other community resources that consumers may be able to utilize.
