Connexus Energy is searching for five experienced and dedicated Journey Lineworkers. As a Lineworker you will work on our crews gaining knowledge and experience in all aspects of safe construction and maintenance of our electrical distribution system as well as construct and maintain the overhead and underground electrical distribution lines in a safe, reliable and timely manner that will provide customers with safe, reliable service.
Compensation:
The union wage scale along with the candidate's experience will determine starting wage. The current pay rate for a journey Lineworker is $57.48/hour. Effective February 1, 2026 the rate will increase to $62.22/hour. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 5% of annual earnings based on company performance
In this position, you will:
* Construct and maintain our overhead and underground electrical distribution system within the appropriate specifications, guidelines, and standards so that reliable service is provided in a safe and timely manner to our members.
* Construct overhead lines including framing, setting poles, stringing conductor, hanging materials and electrical devices according to all specifications
* Install primary and secondary underground electrical distribution system within the appropriate specifications, guidelines and standards
* Plow and trench cable
* Maintain the electrical distribution system to ensure its safety and reliability while minimizing any disruption of service
* Repair broken equipment such as poles and conductors
* Perform general troubleshooting
* Perform appropriate repairs
* Restore power in a safe and timely manner
* Analyze situation that led to the power outage
Need to have:
* High School or GED diploma AND Electrical Lineworker diploma
* Current and valid Class A CDL Driver's License with a good driving record
* Current and valid health card
* Certified First Aid and CPR training
* Trained/able to perform bucket and pole top rescue
* Certified in pole climbing for construction and maintenance
* Ability to operate various equipment such as boom, digger derrick trucks and heavy equipment
* Mechanical aptitude to work with machines and equipment
* Ability to read and understand written work documents such as charts, diagrams, schematics and staking sheets
* Ability to meet the physical standards of the job: Lift & carry up to 75 lbs.; Push/pull up to 150 lbs.; climb & work at heights that may exceed 60 feet

Starting pay is $20.00 plus shift differential for evening/overnight hours.

In this position, you will:

- Position requires extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds and push and/or pull carts weighing as much as 500 pounds.
**Experience:**
- Education equivalent to graduation from high school, or GED.
- Two or more years of industry-related experience in a customer service capacity preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact in providing superior customer service in a variety of settings and situations.
- May require mandatory immunizations and credentials based on customer requirements.
- Must possess a valid driver's license. Must possess reliable transportation to travel between customer facilities.
- Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the primary customer base, based on business needs.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and with little supervision.
- Demonstrates knowledge of computer software applications including spreadsheets and application-based programs to track daily KPIs.
